Fraxel Repair - done on 2/2015

I have a small scar on my forehead about the size of a nickel, it is from a burn and the scar is rough in texture, and the scar healed terrible and pretty much the texture on my forehead is bumpy with rough edges and is noticable. I have had this scar for about 5 years and I have used every scar gel known to man and nothing works which looking back I wasted my time because obviously the only prayer that I have is to damage my scar and have collagen repair my crappy skin texture with new and improve skin - so that was the thought with Fraxel Repair.

So after about 2 years of researching Fraxel repair I finally got enough courage to try it - enough was enough. I got there about an hour early and they rubbed some numbing gel on my scar and I waited in the waiting room for my time. I go in and sit in the chair and he turns on the machine...he did about three passes over my scar with the fraxel repair wand and the pain was decent. I can take pain but it was about a 6/10 for my little scar, but if I had to do my whole face it would have really sucked - just telling you the trust here sorry. After I was done my doctor put vaselline one it, and he said to apply vaselline for the next couple of weeks and use moistorizer - that's it. There was a little swelling and there's no way I could have gone back to work because there was bleeding and it was very red on the first day. On the second day the bleeding pretty much stopped but extremely red and very noticable. Over the course of two months the redness has significantly decreased - but it really has taken about two months for it to be back to normal skin color. People that say redness is gone in 10 days - lucky you because I don't see that happening, yeah it gets less red but not gone completely.

Overall, after two months my scar looks pretty much the exact same that it did before I got fraxel repair...I know that it takes 3-6 months for it to show results but so far I am very disappointed. Trust me I look at the scar every day and I would notice a difference. The Dr. said I would need two treatments but the fact that I don't notice ANY difference makes me not even want to try it again. Hope this helps and good luck to you hope you have more luck.
