My appointment to do my lower abs and flanks was this past Tuesday. I did a lot of research, especially on here before going, so I knew what to expect. I do not handle pain well and was afraid my experience would be painful.

They did my lower abdomen first. The cool patch they applied first did not bother me. Then the suction - it was very intense for me for about 10 minutes, not really pain so much but the feeling and the strong suction really bothered me at first. After the 10 minutes, it felt like a mild cramp. I did some work on my iPad until that hour was up. When the suction was released, they massaged the area which hurt but more of just in a sore kind of way and not pain.

Then the flanks. I had one side done for an hour, then the other side done for an hour. I was expecting them to be easier but from what I read and what they told me but the first 2 minutes of suction really hurt for me, then it was fine. I had also brought a Nook and just read because I was afraid to move and loose the suction. After the suction was released, each side hurt more of in a painful way for about 10 minutes then felt quite a bit better. I had immediate bruising on my sides - large bruises, but was expecting bruising as I bruise pretty easily. All areas were numb and swollen the rest of the day. I worked out the evening I had it done and did my normal weights and cardio with the exception of ab exercises - I was too sore to do those.

On Day 2, my sides were very sore and I had even more bruising. My stomach didn't really bother me much and I had no bruising there. Did cardio and found that swimming laps actually felt good, maybe because the pool is cool. All areas were numb and swollen all day.

On Day 3, the bruising on my sides looked a little better, still no bruising on stomach. My sides hurt a little less, but my stomach was more sore, not in a painful way, more of like I did too much ab work at the gym. The numbness is still there and I still have swelling. I did my normal weight and cardio and did most of my ab routine without any trouble, just some soreness.

The only trouble I have had is with sleeping. I sleep on my side and have insomnia, so I haven't been able to get comfortable.

I am optimistic that this will work once the swelling goes down. I will report on a weekly basis and will post before and after pictures/measurements after a month.

I did not rate the doctor as I was never seen by the doctor. However, the staff that I encountered were very nice and helpful. I choose this provider because they were the closest to where I live.
