I had hated my boobs ever sine I can remember! My left was much larger than my right, my nipples weren't level and they made me feel unattractive. I was embarrassed to take my bra off in front of my boyfriend and if he happened to come in the bathroom whilst I was showering I would panic and try so hard to position my forarms over them so he couldn't see how droopy they were!!

I had my op on the 14th December, it was postponed from the 26th October for reasons out of my control but everything happens for a reason and it gave me time to reflect on what a life changing experience I was about to go through!! That may sound a little OTT but it's true!!

I believe the right term for my surgery was a 1/2 mastopexy with augmentation in simple terms - a lift with an implant. The lift was performed by removing my nipples and taking away excess skin and purse stringing them back together again. The implant was placed in before my nipples went back on!! (Not very technical but that's how it happened) Because I had one breast larger than the other, 3cms skin was removed from my left and 1cm from my right. The left breast had a 280cc and my right a 300cc implant to even them out to as near dam close to symmetry as possible!

When I woke up from surgery the only dressings I had on were over my nipples so I could see them straight away, unlike a friend of mine who was wrapped up like a mummy! The hospital staff at Dolan Park hospital were very attentive, although the nurse that took me down to surgery took me to the wrong theatre and I nearly ended up with a new nose! Haha. I had nobody with me so they were always in and out checking on me! Pain relief was on tap and help to get to and from the bathroom was a god send as I couldn't have done it myself!

The 1st couple of days of recovery were hard! I felt like I had 2 massive boulders attached to my chest that were going to explode but it was just the pressure and the muscle growing and forming around the implant.

I am now 3 weeks post op and know there are still some changes to occur but yesterday I was in Next and I couldn't help but try a bra on! Before my op I was a deflated/empty C cup on my right and C/D on my left dependant on where I shopped. Buying bra's that have to fit one breast but know that the cup for the other is gonna be too big was never a good day!!!! Yesterday, I fitted comfortably in a 32F! I am so happy and couldn't believe they were mine when I looked in the mirror!

Having this surgery has changed the way I look in the mirror and for the first time I now feel happy to be topless in front of my boyfriend!!!!!

Beryl Atkins - one word! Legend! She is the Director of Transpire and after bad breast surgery herself set up a company to offer quality care and surgery for all patients. My consultation was free and the surgeon spent a great deal of time with me discussing all my options unlike others where I was in and out within 10 minutes and made me feel even worse! Anybody considering surgery in the UK should get in contact..... My new (.)(.)'s have changed my life!!!!!
