So here it goes, I decided to go out of state because in NY BA go for at least $6500. I can think of a lot of other things to do with my money then spend it on boobs (no less the guilt id have for spending so much and having two kids). So i researched for the past two years and found Dr. Hedden, who has great reviews for his out of state BA. Even with travel costs its only $3800 all together or $4600 for silicone (and thats including hotel, car rental, two plane tickets for me and my bf). Only thing Im indecisive about now is silicone or saline, I only have 18 days so I better choose soon. I want the full look on top (high polar) and have seen saline creates this more but silicone is better on thin women like me. Plus its $800 more for silicone (I would never finance plastic sugery). I go for my CBC blood test on Thursday or Friday. They told me I cant take Tramadol pre-surgery that I take for neuropathy but That makes no sense, as a RN I know Tramadol has no bleeding factors involved

So almost 10 days left to the big day and 9 days left until I get on my flight to Alabama. Just worried at this point about waking up after the twilight anestesia and how my body will react. I began thinking I want 400cc Saline but know I am leaning towards 475cc silicone, grrr so hard to decide lol

So I'm here in Alabama for my big day tomorrow....

So I'm here in Alabama for my big day tomorrow. Went for my consult today with Dr. Hedden and we decided on silicone 450cc's, biplanar augmentation under the breast incision. So excited! Have to be the tomorrow at 630am. Dr. Hedden was great and told me what was best for me with no added BS. Hope all goes well

So I am official on the other side now! Had to be at the surgery center at 6:30am. I was taken back by 7:15am. Meet with the nurse anesthetist Tara (Love her, she was awesome!) who asked some questions and started my IV. My boyfriend came in one last time. Dr. Hedden came in and drew on me, I asked if I could change from 450 to 475 and he said I have tubular breasts that hes correcting with a biplanar approach and didn't know if he could fit it in my breast tissue. :(. Tara came back and gave me some versed and I kissed my boyfriend goodbye. Next thing I know I am shaking violently and very sore, not going to lie but that stunk. Then the BP cuff kept going off every 30 seconds and it was making my arm numb. Thank fully the nurse took it off soon and gave me some Gatorade. Maybe 20 min later I was being wheeled out and saw my bf pacing back and forth, when he saw me he was very happy to see me smiling. I had no problem getting in the car. I got back tot the hotel and ate like I haven't ate in a year lol. Toook some pain meds and Valium and laid down. About two hours laters me and my bf walked around the hotel twice to get my blood moving. Dr. Hedden wAs great though and I am seeing him tomorrow before I head back to NY. I highly recommend him to anyone. Was honest and concerned about all my issues, not to mention efficient yet fast (love that). Very nervous about day 2, as it is the worse day. Oh and I went with silicone 475cc with an under breast incision

Day 2. Went for my post-op follow-up. I feel great today. Went to sleep in the bed with 5 pillows then woke up with really bad pain, took a pain pill and slept in recliner for 3 hours very comfortably. Recliners are great! I might buy one for my home lol. Post-op went great, Dr. H said I'm ahead of the game and doing better then anyone else, not bad for a diabetic! Honestly, yesterday was much worse. Going to take my first shower

Day 3. Starting to feel a bit of sharp pains only...

Day 3. Starting to feel a bit of sharp pains only when I cough. But otherwise, I have no bruising and just swelling. My boyfriend has been a gem to me. Right now I need to just take it easy because I pushed myself yesterday and today, now I am feeling it and am going to pamper myself tomorrow. All in all my experience has been a big pleasure. Thank god that god sent me to such a great dr. I bought an under armor zip up bra and felt it squeezed the hell out of my boobs and hurt my under breasts incisions. Back to the champion zip up, will use the under armor for working out in 3 weeks and order another champion. But I am ding very well and am feeling awesome. Anyone thinking twice, don't! If you have destroyed breasts from breastfeeding for babies for a couple months or years, you owe it to yourself to bring back that self esteem. Its a feeling I cant even explain. I feel high on my results

I returned to work yesterday and all went well. Only discomfort is when I wake up but it goes away in 10 minutes. I can't believe how easy this whole process has been. I went shopping for new tips and I can't believe how hot they look on me now. Hello self esteem!

I know its too early to get sized but I went with a friend to VS and just gave it a shot. Well before BA I was a 32/ 34 A, I had 475cc put and she said I was a 36B. Im like "they are huge and fill up a 34D sports bra". Idk what t make of this

So an update on my sizing issue. Today I went to a professional bra shop and got sized at 34 DD. I bought one in a D but said since my swelling is mostly gone the size won't change. I bought 2 in DD. should I call and complain to VS about the chick because I asked her to resize me and that I'm a wearing a D sports bra

How long did everyone's sutures take to dissolve?...

How long did everyone's sutures take to dissolve? Mine were placed under the breast and I had my BA almost 11 days ago, they are not even close to going away

So my swelling has gone down and I have dropped...

So my swelling has gone down and I have dropped significantly at 17 days post op. it feels so nice to be able to wear the playtex 18 hour bra or genie bra during the day then those tight sports bras. I'm still putting arnica on twice a day. They seem smaller now but fit into 34D or 34DD. Only problem is the straps are too long on some bras. Has anyone worried about getting the contraction after BA, it's a 7% risk and I keep making sure I don't have it

4 weeks post op. my incisions are healing well but I'm still freaked out that I have internal sutures from the crease lowering. You see them when I strech or lift my arm. It also hurts to go certain ways. I fit into a. 34DD and I guess that's the size I'm staying. Still wearing sports brAs because they give the best support except if I go out at night once a week ill wear my pretty bra I bought . It's funny but they don't seem that big to me but when I try on bras or bathing suits I pop out of larges and was an extra extra small before
Great review?

He is worth the trip. I will be honest and say I came down here because I couldn't afford 9000 on Long Islnd for silicone but I couldn't have received better care anywhere. Between Heather the out of care coordinator (who even texted me an hour after I got back to the hotel to see how I am!) to the down to earth nurses, the awesome Nurse anesthetist Tara to Dr. Hedden addressing all my needs. I couldn't ask for more. Granted I am writing this on my surgery date 4 hours later but so good so far, no great. But I hope it will reflect the care I received so far in my recovery and outcome. No harsh wait times like I read. I mean yea my pre-consult I was there 1.5 hours but they did a lot that day and its a plastic surgeons office.Didnt feel anyone was too busy for me, I felt they stopped anything for me. Go to him, hes worth it!

How are you doing? Are your inner sutures feeling better? Mine feel MUCH better and I'm thinking in a couple more weeks I will be able to return to bootcamp. The inner sutures do really slow the healing process though eh?!

Ugh I hate VS! Snootiest workers ever! I worked there for like two weeks when I was 19 and had to quit. Ain't nobody got time for that! You look great BTW!

What profile did you get? Looks great!!! Mine are 5 days post op and still too hard to make cleavage...."patience", I tell myself ;)
homen 3 Feb 2013
High profile, I really wanted the upper portion filled out. What did you get?
Limaboro 3 Feb 2013
Ultra high profile! I thought I wanted mod plus but my PS new better ;) She gave me volume that matched my breast width. This helps for a natural look. Here I thought high profiles couldn't achieve that! I was wrong!!! Mine are ULTRA high profiles...go figure!? Lol

Oh and they project twice as much!!!

Just saw your pics and WOW! You had the saggy look going on that I had. But you look great now. I went with. 475cc silicone also. I never thought I could feel this good after a simple boob job

Mine dissolved but I am not 100% sure when lol. I would say at 2-3 weeks they were pretty much gone. At 4 weeks a saw a stitch poking out and pulled it out with tweezers .. Probably not a good idea but I did it anyway lol

Girlfriend .. I don't think you are done swelling yet. My PS said about 4 weeks post op my swelling should be done and that will be my size, the only thing is the shape will change as the move, settle, etc. I am a little over 5 weeks and still have not splurged on bras yet. ;-)
homen 2 Feb 2013
I am still a bit swollen but more on the sides. Hey I'll be happy with a small D. I didn't splurge. I needed two supportive ones for next week but I can't wait for another month to or 6 weeks to splurge

I think it's just how they are "trained", so calling may not make a difference. Until they are properly trained they will continue to measure how they have always been. BUT you never know, maybe if enough people call and complain it may help. At least you got measured properly and now know your size.

I was more upset at her attitude. Just funny, how I found the certain kind of supportive bras I need somewhere else and was a DD in them. I tried on a VS B I have and it wouldn't cover a quarter of my boob. But thankfully I found out I'm not really small and found the bra I need for the next month
Angel1981 2 Feb 2013
Now attitude I would complain about.

No point in it. Really, they did that to me to. :)

You look great! I'm so looking forward to meeting him in person!

I promise you won't be disappointed. I loved the whole experience. Just went so smooth

Don't you worry what the chick at VS says! I got sized there BEFORE my surgery and was told 32 D....um no, and STILL not after surgery, haha!! Go to Nordstrom and they'll do it right! Glad everything is going well for you otherwise!
homen 1 Feb 2013
I don't like that chick and Ty for telling me not to take it to heart, you know where I'm coming from. I just had this feeling that I wasted my money but I went through my old C bras and I they don't even cover my nipple and they are not push ups. I'm going to a professional corsitere by me tomorrow because I need one regular bra that's not a push or under wire

Even when my doc said it was time to shop, I found the measured me incorrectly. They said I was 38d which would have been 36dd. I in fact wear 36d. If the implant is sitting high or "long" it will effect the measurements
homen 1 Feb 2013
Mine are high and a bit long. Which I told her. She didn't even know what type of bra is best after BA or to take off my sports bra
