I did it to finally get the nose that makes me feel happy about my overall appearance! You only live once, mine as well not let cosmetic imperfections hold you back to feeling & becoming your very best:)

Dr. B did a revisional open rhinoplasty on me about a year ago & the results are just as I'd wanted:) My first rhinoplasty was done by a family friend plastic surgeon that my mom loves in Chicago, IL. I can't speak as highly for him. Dr. B had to basically correct all the mistakes from the first surgery. He made my nose perfect though. I can breathe so much better now too.

The 1st rhinoplasty done by the other Doctor (who I won't name) was performed as a closed rhinoplasty. I asked for just a more complimentary nose to help bring out my eyes more. I was modeling then and felt that a more narrow nose with a smaller tip would help boost my work & make me less hung up about it. The end result was fine in the 1st year but after five years, my nose started to appear off to me again.

I didn't even have to say a word & Dr. B knew I'd had work done on my nose! I still laugh about that b/c no one else ever glanced twice at my nose before meeting Dr. B. Here I am thinking he'd never guess it, but he did. And to my happiness & relief he knew pretty much spot-on what needed to be done to achieve the best results for my face type.

So far, the nose isn't showing signs of any problems. Yet, I've read that it is actually common for rhinoplasty patients to need a 2nd surgery after the initial first one. I saw, 5 years after my first closed surgery, that the tip of my nose looked suddenly even more bulbous than my original nasal tip! So it was like, great, here we go again. Yet, I really think Dr. B intervened at the perfect timing to do the full open surgery. He told me later in our correspondences (which many doctors don't really take the time to continually follow up with their patient's satisfaction & Dr. B did), that upon first opening my nose to see what he had to work with... he was taken aback by a few things.

First: It looked as if I'd previously had a broken nose where the nasal bones didn't heal correctly- they were off-centered.

2nd: My cartilage had been over-resected and what was barely left had been unevenly divided to give my tip support but Dr. B explained that it was a majorly flawed & botched job on that first surgeons attempt to perform a closed rhinoplasty further more b/c on one side Dr. B discovered a huge piece of cartilage which at first look, resembled a tumor-like appearance! Then on the other side of noses' nasal tip was a tiny piece of stretch out cartilage. I knew my nose didn't look as great as it did initially & had changed over the years but I had no idea it was a catastrophe inside!

Dr. B performed (what I should've originally had to begin with) the open surgery, corrected the cartiladge mishap, aligned my tiny nose bones that resembled a broken nose (which for the record, I've never in my life broken my nose!) and ultimately said I was lucky my nose hadn't collapsed already.

I was even more upset when it took many phone calls to finally get this past surgeon on the phone to explain to me why his operative report was full of lies & ambiguous statements. He reported, that I came in with not only a deviated septum, but also a broken nose (wrong), and that the operation went without any complications or problems. He took out way too much cartilage and then did a nice half-ass job on trying to mask his mistakes. The first day after the operation, I awoke to find my splint had fallen off of my nose- literally. It became unstuck and just fell off. I promptly went to see this surgeon the next day & he of course, in his Mid-Western way, told me not to worry, no big deal. Umm, I thought in the first few days it is extremely important to KEEP the splint on???!!!

Aw, geez, anyhow... Dr. B handled it all very professionally & put my poor nose back in order- the way only an experienced surgeon who knows what he is doing could possibly do. I am sticking with Dr. B for all my future cosmetic or reconstructive needs in surgery. Dr. B also regularly does Botox injections for my tiny forehead lines & that was my favorite cosmetic discovery yet! No more headaches after using just a small amount of Botox and it was my first time using a muscle relaxant injectable. I also noticed that my skin just seemed so much smoother & blemish free, my pores looked smaller too.

Lastly, aww, the good ole injectable filler for in my case, a tiny boost in my already full lips- but I like the look- it doesn't give me that "Fish-Pucker" women dread. Maybe that's Dr. B's fine skill & perfectionistic work or perhaps my already full lips meant less of the injectable filler needed. He also does my smile lines/laugh lines and again, ZERO COMPLAINTS & ZERO COMPLICATIONS & 100% Satisfied, Happy & Sexy Lady here:) Watch out world, lol...

My rating:

In all honesty, this is a doctor you won't be let down by. He cares too much about making you feel happier with your appearance. And more importantly, I liked his honesty with me, he told me what was and was not likely achievable. I am a perfectionist at heart- so the unachievable talk was hard to hear but so important to not go into surgery with false hopes. I think that's all I will say for now. But I could go on & on about what this particular plastic surgeon has that others might lack. His kindness, modest & humble attitude (especially towards what I saw in his portfolio as incredible achievements!!!) and his gentleness... these all made me feel safe, secure & trusting in his surgical expertise, his range of skill and in the end, I only want to be on an Operating Table if Dr. B is the Surgeon on-call:))) Thanks Dr. B!
