Week 1.5

Day 11 update.
Doing well, thank God. (:
Morning boob/Pain. The stiffness went away? Or I could just be getting used to it? But while I still use my ab-muscles to get up from sleeping on my back, it is not as bad as it was the first couple days. Haven't needed any pain meds since Day 3.
Out & about. I am able to do everything in moderation - even showering, toileting, etc. I went to the park on day 8 with the boyfriend, played on the play-sets, swings, slide. I was wearing Walmart's Danskins front closure sports bra ($12) and it really held everything in place. Was able to pass around the volleyball for a bit too!
1 Week post op visit. On 1/26 I had my '1-week' visit with Dr J. He said I was looking good, & taught me to do massages. Reasoning: loosen the muscle & allow the implants to move to prevent capsular contracture. Each side must be massaged 6 times a day for 20 seconds a time. **Dr J said to avoid pushing the implants to the side as some surgeons/videos may say because I could lose the cleavage.
I voiced my concerns about being/looking too big, Dr J said, "give it a couple months, you'll be telling me you should have gone bigger.. You'll get used to it, you look perfect!" Hoping so!
I posted a picture of the incisions.. pictures taken today, 01/27/2015.
My left is dropping faster than my left - Dr J & the posts here, assured me it's normal. Dr J said the dominant side is usually the later one to drop because the muscle is tighter/used more. Massaging the higher up one should help.

Day 3/4

Shower - I totally got the dressings wet. So much for my attempt at saran wrapping - it was drenched! I did buy OpSite tape (like saran wrap but surgical & waterproof), figured I could put gauze over the entire dressing and tape over it. Anyway, the shower was amazing! (Showered against medical advice, btw.) I was able to shower by myself, I had to hunch forward to get my hair. Other than that, was totally worth it.

Appointment - Beverly Hills is about a 20 minute ride from my home, via freeway (not counting LA traffic). The car ride was uncomfortable because of bumps, potholes, and uneven roads. Hugging a pillow would have helped, but the boyfriend got to my place late - so we were rushing a bit. I saw Dr J for about 10/15 minutes. I'm sure he knew I took a shower because of how the dressings looked. He changed them - so I was able to see my incisions for a quick second! (Dr J is so good! He cut right at the borders of the areola, so I'm hopeful the incisions will be barely noticeable.) Dr J said I was doing so well being independent, but reminded me to 'take it easy'.
I told Dr J how I felt them being too big for me, and he said that it was perfect I felt that way because I'll more than likely love the end result. We'll see. Next appointment will be on Monday (1/26) - want to see if I'll be able to drive myself this time. :D

Out & about - The boyfriend and I took a stroll around Beverly Hills, & then around UCLA. He toured me for a bit (his university), grabbed some food and headed home. I wanted to keep being out and about, but my mother insisted I needed to go home to rest. (Party pooper!)

Pain - There isn't any (knock on wood)! Sometimes I get a light sharp sting towards the nipple area, but that's just the nerves regenerating (per Dr J and Daria, his secretary). I'm getting used to the heaviness of the implants. The tightness feels as if its subsiding.

I'm able to sleep on my back now. I noticed I was stretching my arms almost over my head this morning, stopped myself before I could hurt myself, I hope.

Thoughts: Again, they feel too big. I'm starting to think 350cc would have been the better choice. But it's too early to say, maybe I'll get used to them. I do like having fuller/perkier breasts tho.

*I put up a picture of things I had bought prior to surgery: "preop purchases". All from Walmart & I've been using them religiously. Laxatives - stimulant & herbal - for bowel movements. Front closure sports bra (Fruit of the Loom and Danskin). I prefer the Fruit of the Loom bra over the surgical bra; SUPER comfy. Dr J cleared it. I read to get the Fruit of the Loom bra 2 sizes than your normal size, so I got a 38, only $8!

Current measurements:
Band size increased to a 36in; fullest part of my breast 40in.
Victoria secret bra size: 36D/34DD
(I was hoping for a FULL C. Oh my goodness.)

Day 1/2

Morning boob! I have been sleeping at a 45-90 degree angle and still manage to wake up with morning boob (stiffness of the muscles) - which is expected for the next 4-6 months (according to my research - sad sad life, its so discomforting). Other than the stiff chest, no "pain".

I ambulate every hour, and keep reminding myself to keep a straight back. I notice I hunch over a lot. Maybe the heavy chest?

The doctor said no showers until I see him, which is tomorrow (1/19) at 5pm, so I've been doing sponge baths for the mean time. I'm going to attempt a shower before the appointment tomorrow while keeping the dressings dry and intact (nursing skills - figured saran wrap my chest and tape it all up to keep it dry!).

Today I took Norco 5/325 once in the morning, and once in the evening before bed. I was afraid of ending up constipated due to the pain medications, so I took a couple Sennakots 8.6mg (an herbal laxative) and Colace (stool-softner), and from that had a couple bowel movements (TMI?! sorry). I'm pretty independent getting up from bed, sponge bath, toiletting, brushing my hair and changing clothes - just taking it turtle slow, but still independent. (The boyfriend left on Saturday to help a buddy move in San Diego & both my mother and brother worked the weekend.) No pain during the activities when taking it turtle slow though!

Just noticed I haven't left the house since surgery. I live in a multi-level town home (about 4 stories counting the garage/laundry room) and have been going up and down the stairs here and there - making sure my heart rate does NOT go above 100 (risk for bleeding first 72 hours).

Dr J gave me a call the day of surgery, but I missed it. However, he was able to get me on the phone on Saturday. His advice was to rest up and take it easy. Dr J reassured me that the surgery went "just perfect". He gave me his personal cell phone number and told him to call if I had any questions. Such a sweet surgeon! Simply the best!

Thoughts so far: I honestly think they are too big right now, but it's definitely the swelling. Reading most posts from here and other sites, I'm convincing myself that it's a good thing I feel they are too big than too small.. I can't wait for the swelling to go down, feel normal, and be able to do some physical activity! Restrictions are killing me and it's only been 48 hours!

I'll update tomorrow on how the car ride and appointment at Beverly Hills goes. (:
