I consulted with several board-certified cosmetic plastic surgeons in the greater Washington, DC area regarding a lower face lift, and each physician seemed skilled and nice. However, I paid close attention to their portfolios of face lift patient photos, and found that although the "after" pictures looked good from the front, most of them looked only somewhat better in their profiles. However, during my consultation with Dr. Franklin D. Richards, I immediately noticed very definite and beautiful results in his extensive portfolio of face lift cases. Both the front AND profile photos of all of his face lift patients look really naturally youthful and great. I mentioned this difference in profile pictures to Dr. Richards, and he explained the importance of often addressing the neck muscles in achieving an overall improved look of the lower face, jaw, and chin area. He did not describe any of this in terms of multiple procedures (face and neck) and certainly did not charge as if it were two. His face lift portfolio speaks for itself, but I also felt his explanations reflect a particularly strong sense of artistic and professional integrity. Dr. Richards and all of his staff were absolutely wonderful to be with, and I feel very lucky to have found his practice.
