2 weeks "post-op"

Today I went for my 2 week post-op follow up...I am down 24 pounds !!!!! So psyched !!!!! I have lost a lot of weight (50+) pounds in the past only to put it back on and some...this time, it's going "bye-bye" for good! Couldnt wait to start solid foods, had a hard cooked egg mixed with non-fat cottage cheese. NOT BAD!! Couldnt get it all down in one sitting..so i ate a little until i was full and then had some more an hour later...Dr. Bell said, to "listen to your body" and eat only when your hungry and stop when you feel full. They are not too worried about the 50-60 grams of protein a day...but more of listening to the signs and choosing the right foods for now. Cant wait to continue on...looking forward to walking and going to the gym...I have a long road (100+ pounds) but i feel I am on the right track...thanks to this site and the support...i know i can do this...

5 days post -op

Hi. It's been 5 days since my surgery. I am still very sore, as I had a hernia repair and belly button reconstruction too. I am getting back to my routine and it was hard tonight as i made dinner for my family and drank my 2oz of protein shake, but i know this too shall pass. Loving my decaf herbal iced tea. I look forward to the calcium chews and the flintstone vitamins each day....i did walk a little more today and had some more energy...Cant wait to get to phase 2, when i can start introducing soft solids, cottage cheese and yogurt. I'm paranoid about hair loss so i started taking the biotin chewables...they are pretty good, taste like starbursts....Hoping to stop taking the pain meds this weekend....So glad i had this done , Dr. Bell and his staff were the best.

I am 2months shy of turning 50. I have spent my 20's, 30's, and 40's struggling with my weight. Lost 90 pounds here, lost 60 pounds there, lost 75 pounds ...all to be gained back and SOME !!!!! I need to stop the insanity and make solid, life- long behavioral changes. This is my 50th birthday present to me. The scale turned over 300 pounds last month and I lost it!!! I can't go on like this anymore. I have scheduled my surgery for 7/17/14 and it can't come soon enough.
