I never thought I'd resort to minor surgery to...

I never thought I'd resort to minor surgery to change my body. However, after numerous surgeries resulting in more medical challenges, I decided to take the plunge. I work out regularly and have always been that girl who can drop weight with minimal effort. Imagine my surprise when after a year and half of hardcore exercise after three surgeries, I barely dropped 20lbs.

After a bit of research I decided that if I didn't see the results I typically expected, I would try Microbody contouring. I'm ageing fairly well to most people, however, I knew I could be in much better shape had I not been through three surgeries along with my body producing too much estrogen. The side effects of the surgeries were abdominal adhesions resulting daily water retention. Due to estrogen dominance, I developed the dreaded arm wings.

I have a closet full of nice clothes, I didn't want to buy more and after doing the math decided this was a reasonable route after all the personal trainers and exercise DVDs.

I had the following areas treated after my weigh loss plateaued: arms, back, stomache, inner thighs, knees and saddles bags.

I prepped myself for a month prior to surgery to reduce the amount of edema in my lower body. I also started on a regimen of Serrapeptase to reduce inflammation and to consume fibrin. While I was nervous due to some of the horror stories I've read, I was confident that I was in more than reasonable shape and Dr. Bullis' reviews were very positive.

I had my surgery the morning of September 25, 2015. I'm not sure how long it took. I only remember going into the operating room and then waking in a wheelchair while the nurses pulled on my a few of my support garments. I slept until roughly 8:30pm that night as I had a bit too much anesthesia. Once awake, I commenced to drinking water as I was quite thirsty.

Overall, my pain was not very bad at all, I felt very sore and it was a challenge to sit up but not too bad. I have to say I was impressed with my immediate appearance once I looked in the mirror. I could definitely tell that my lines were much smoother and I mostly looked like my old-self prior to my three surgeries.

The following day was uneventful. I really didn't have that much drainage. Yes some of it did soak threw on Thursday night but not to the point of concern. In fact the plastic I had on my sheets bore no traces of drainage, just my clothes. This was a good thing because I had an unexpected event I had to attend on Saturday. I went for the 30 minute walk and felt fine, just very sore through my abdomen and my sides were sensitive to the touch.

On Saturday, I showered and washed my garment. I got dressed to go to the event I had to attend. There was no trace of my compression garment, I looked presentable and there was zero drainage as well. Getting in and out of the car had small challenges but nothing concerning. Again, the 'pain' is more of a soreness in your abdominal region. I had to grin to myself, because no one had a clue except me ;-)

Today in Monday and I feel pretty well. I am swollen a bit more, mostly in the inner thighs but that was part of my challenges prior to the surgery and a motivation to have the surgery. I also reminded myself that I'd not drank 3 liters of water either. Since the surgery, I'd been drinking at least 3 liters of water to stay well hydrated. I resumed taking the Serrapeptase on Thursday evening after the surgery, this is helping with the inflammation and will reduce the amount of scar tissue.

I am very pleased with my abdomen, all the hard work the past 1.5 years is now visible and what I'm use to. I am so glad my saddles bags are gone. One looks a bit odd but I had surgery years ago on my hip, it's always been a bit oddly shaped. I tried on a blazer and couldn't stop smiling, the arms were not tight.

For anyone thinking about having their abs done, make sure you work your core as hard as possible prior to surgery. I think I would have much more discomfort is my core was weak. Each time you stand up it will be a challenge and you'll need a moment to completely straighten your back. I'm not use to sleeping on my back, however that was the best position. Today I napped briefly on my stomach with no problems.

I'm looking forward to the healing process over the next 6 months. I am going on a business trip in August, I am looking forward to seeing how my business clothes fit. As an aside, I'm glad I work from home. I would not want to wear the contouring garment to work underneath clothes.

My plan is to continue with my exercise and work with a nutritionist to revamp my diet. I still want to lose inches and maintain what Dr. Bullis 'fixed' for me ;-).

I met with Dr. Bullis for my pre-op. He was very thorough and realistic. For some doctors they may have considered my edema a challenge. Dr. Bullis wasn't worried and knew what to do. He has a good eye.
