Facelift..My Experience and Advice - Bellevue, WA

When it comes to facial plastic surgery,...

When it comes to facial plastic surgery, experience is all what matters. Check how many procedures that surgeon did and review the patients feedback carefully. See below for my experience and advice. My first experience in facelift with Dr Young was not good. He left me with a submental scar associated with lines and ridges over my bilateral cheeks. I had to go to do a revision with one of the top surgeons in facelift and I am thrilled with his artist work. From his feedback about Dr. Young's work, I do not recommend him to have this procedure with him. My second surgeon criticized the submental approach that Dr. Young used. He also found out when he opened that the deep tissues were not mobilized enough.

I don’t recommend Dr. Young in lower facelift. The technique he uses leaves a submental scar that –in my case- was very disfiguring and noticeable. The scar pulled the sides of my cheek leaving ridges and lines that persisted for more than two years. I had to have revision by one of the top facial plastic surgeons with decent experience in the facelift. He does not use the submental approach and does not leave a scar beneath the chin. After the revision, he told that your first surgeon was very conservative and did not lift the deep tissues enough and this has resulted in tissue laxity within less than two years. He did not bother doing a postop follow up. Dr. Young may be a good doctor but he lacks experiences in this and I do not recommend him in this area. When it comes to facial plastic surgery, experience is all what matters. Check how many procedures that surgeon did and review the patients feedback carefully.

Hi faceliftadvisor, We would love to help you and figure out your situation and a solution. In terms of your results, the only way that people in the community can truly make a decision is to see before and afters taken in a scientific way. We would love to facilitate this to allow people to make their own decisions on how you look after the procedure. Also, we have written to you before and it seems that you may have removed your account. We have had other competing doctors post fake reviews before and wanted to make sure you are a patient. Please write us back so we can help you. Sincerely, Aesthetic Facial Plastic Surgery

Hi faceliftadvisor, My question/comment is basically the same as vsoah31. I had poor results with a face/neck lift (not Dr. Young). Would you please send me the name of the surgeon who you were happy with his revision surgery? I am hopeful now that my terrible result can be corrected. Thank you!

I did facelift with Dr Young and it did not go right. There were lines and skin irregularity as well as visible scar underneath my chin. I was depressed and withdrawn. I contactd Dr Young and his response was not convincing. I went to a leading surgeon with unique experience in facelifting. He did revision and I am now very happy and restored my confidence with myself, although I am still 3-week post-op. My advice to all of you: do not do any surgery on your face unless you have to..(to correct any sort of deformity or abnormality). The recovery is not easy, even if the surgery goes right. You will feel isolated and depressed. If things do not go right (such as you look worse than before, asymmetry ..etc) you will enter a cycle of depression in looking for some to correct the damage and paying more money for the correction. It was a difficult experience in my life and I am now over it. Don't do any surgery unless you have to. In terms of Dr. young, I don't really recommend him. His lacks decent experience and there are many surgeons with more experience than him. He sound a nice person but this is just like being a good actor. Money is all what they look for. Dr. young's profile is bad as there are many complaints against him. Google him and see what you get.

Hi faceliftadvisor, I also was left with bad facelift results with Dr. Young. May I ask who your new surgeon was to have yours revised? (please send private message). Is the surgeon in the Seattle area? Glad to hear you had good results the second time.

I find it humorous that you are questioning every person that writes a negative review about you whether he/she is a real patient. I understand that it might be hard to accept that you have unhappy patients, but it is important that the public knows about the good AND the bad.

someones face is not a thing to play with sir. I am reading your response and it is insensitive. Focus on he positives? when her or his self esteem is shot because of his or her surgeon and they are probably out a bunch of money? Don't sound petty you are supposed to be above that as a surgeon .. my surgeon botched me and i see him here touting buttlifts,, i had only lipo but he was a real trash bag and I HAD to tell people about him.. you like he are only human and can make mistakes just own up to them and help the patient who paid you their hard earned money and trusted you with their lives and faces and bodies..

Very good point. I didn't detect a litany of complaints in this reviewer's posting. I detected 2 main concerns: a) her result was poor all round and b) the follow up was non-existent. It might bode Dr Young well to take a few pointers from some of these disgruntled patients unless he wants to spend more time on here defending himself against these reviews. It seems like he's trying to come across as a nice guy, so why - if he'd listened to what his patients wanted in the first place, or at least tried to resolve things with them satisfactorily - are they on here "complaining about all the bad things"? You have to understand that plastic surgery is a huge deal for the average person (not on a doctor's salary) and poor results can cost you more than money. Good luck faceliftadvisor and good luck Dr Young.

This is such a backhanded remark by Dr. Young. Very insensitive.

Yes exactly.... What is going on with this doctor's practice? What's up with the copy and paste response to every negative review.

Thanks so much for sharing your opinion about your doctor.

I would love to add your experience to the facelift community, but it would be helpful if you could provide some more detail about your experience with the actual procedure/treatment. I suggest adding pros and cons and/or before and after photos - optional of course, so that other community members can use your review as a guide through their journey.

Looking forward to your response so I can add your review to the facelift community.
