Im 36 years old and I never really had a good lip. You cannot see my teeth at all and it just doesn't have a pretty shape. To make things worse my lips are thin. I know someone who had this done and I couldn't believe the difference! I'm hoping for the same result!! I'm having the lip lift and he's going to fill them to help create a fuller look. Wish me luck! I will post pics.

Hello everyone! Its been two weeks since my surgery and I'm finally feeling back to normal.Overall it was not too bad I'm still healing but I'm already very happy with the results.

I had more swelling on the right side of my lip, the doctor said, this will improve as I heal. I still have numbness and swelling in the incision area under my nose, as the swelling goes down my lip should lift up even more. The scare is healing very well and is already hardly noticeable. I will have the laser treatment ,but have not gotten it yet.

I just wanted to say that this procedure is so natural looking. Its hard to see in the pics because I'm trying not to show my entire face,but it really helped balance out my face and is more proportionate. I told my Dr. I wanted a very natural look, and I didn't want a hiked up look that people would know I did something or that would look funny. It's been three weeks, I still have swelling in my upper lip so I have not achieved my end result, but it already looks so much better.

So, I had my laser resurfacing done! I was not prepaired for another week of recovery. This proceedure also causes lots of swelling and is painful! The price we pay for beauty!

Luck being wished in buckets! I'm hoping maybe you can't see your teeth because your lips are still swollen. Hopefully it will get better soon. Yes pictures would be great and are so helpful for the community. Please keep us updated.

Thanks for my bucket of wishes!! I really should have read over my review before I posted it!!I'ts hard to understand what I was trying to say with all the run on sentences!! LOL!!! My surgery is scheduled for July 18th and I might have to push it back again to August. I was trying to explain why I chose to have the lip lift surgery. I have been searching online for pictures and info on this procedure and found this blog so helpful I decided to document my experience too! I promise to keep you updated!

Wishng you the very best with your surgery. Will your doctor do skin excise only or skin with muscle hemming? How did you select your doctor?
I am considering getting the procedure done as well...hince all the questions. My lip /nose distance has increased with age and has aged me. My teeth no longer show when speaking and I have to exaggerate when smiling for show. I look forward to seeing your results!

My pre- op is Aug 18th I will ask the doctor but I think its skin excise. My younger sister had this done she is 24 yrs old and I didn't think she needed to do anything! I must say I thought she made a huge mistake after seeing her 6 weeks after the proceedure, but now a year later I've really noticed the great shape of her new lips very natural. I'm 36 and like you am noticing the sagging upper lip so for me I should get a double benefit the pretty shapely lips and a younger look. I am using the Dr. that did my sisters proceedure he is with the Williamson Center Dr Perenack.

Aug, I wanted to ask you how your sister healed from her procedure? There are comments by some who tell of not so attractive scars and a few that tell of scars that are well hidden. Thank you very much for all your help.

She healed very well. They resurface the scar at no extra charge!

Congratulations, you look great. I am glad you're happy with your results. I was able to see scar area in the 8th photo best (the others appear to have some type of yellow/orange gel substance over area). Photo 8 with/without makeup? Your scar is healing well, and you haven't even had your laser tx. yet...yeah! Did he/she add anything to enhance fullness? Thanks for sharing with us.

Yes, I was wearing make up in photo 8. Yes, I had jevaderm added to my top lip to help give my lip some shape. You can see in my before pics there was no fullness or shape, my doctor had to create it for me.

Oh, that orange stuff is actually the stiches with antibiotic gel over it. My scar is barely noticeable... yeah!, I was really worried about the scaring.

I met friends for lunch on day 14. The heat would affect my swelling and I would get tired easily. Week 3 was hard because the feeling was starting to come back around the incision and it was still so swollen, I just felt miserable. Week 4 was the real turning point for me.

Hi, having a bad morning :( It still looks the same as day 3, and what I really worried about are the corners of my mouth. I got a corner lift as well, but my mouth is downturned, way worse than before I even got this done. I noticed that in your earlier swelling, yours were downturned the very slightest bit, but not like mine. Did you feel like you looked like you were frowning for the first few weeks, and then it got better? Definitely not feeling great.

Your lip lift looks good. I am also considering getting one done but I am still in the process of doing research on the after effects. Have you noticed any difference with your nostril shape?

Well, at first the whole area is swollen nostrils included, but my Dr. cut under my nose and he did not disturb my nostrils. I just had the laser resurfacing done to make sure there was no trace of scaring and this proceedure has also caused more swelling in my upper lip. I will post a new pic in a couple weeks once it settles down. Over all I am pleased. My Dr.is a perfectionist its all about balance.

Did you do a lot of research before you got your lip lift? I really really really want to get one done as well. Please let me know if you notice your nostril holes becoming more noticeable. I have read that some people after getting a lip lift and once everything heels, have noticed that there nostril holes have become pulled down more so it looks like they are larger and more open. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that this doesn't happen to you and if everything turns out right, I may just be going to your doctor! Lookin good!

I highly recommend my Doctor! His background is he is a dental surgeon along with his degree in plastics specializing in the face. He's also an artist. My nostrils are normal, my sister had this done first and hers are fine too! Dr. Pernack's nurse Tracy had the lip lift and it looks so good and natural. I got alot of info from this site ,but was really going off my sisters results and experience that made me choose my Dr.I was very clear I wanted a very natrual look and it really is starting to look good! I'm so excited!

Hi, Did you have the muscle cut just under your nose as well, or did you just have the skin excised in a "bull horn" incision. I know that term sounds crude, but thats what that incision is referred as.

Just the skin was cut no muscle. Yes, I promise to post more pics soon. I'm a realtor and I've been crazy busy not to mention the holiday stuff! LOL!!

Hey! Yes more pics soon! so notice my teeth, when I was a teenager with braces the orthodontis shaved down my front two teeth because they had gotten chipped on the braces. I had no idea I could have this fixed with bonding! I have a complete smile makeover. I would have had my teeth fixed years ago, just had no idea, it was such an easy fix. Looks soo much better!!
