How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

Ok – So I’m never one to write a review (good or bad) nor do I ever think you should publish your opinions right after something happens (hence the 1 year delay). However, I feel very strongly that I should give credit when credit is due…

My Full TT Adventure: I had been to consultations for many doctors. I avoided most doctors who made you pay a consultation fee…. You can analyze that in many ways but I felt that if someone was confident enough in their work and abilities, they wouldn’t feel the need to “trap” you in with consult fees… Sure, some may look at it differently – such as a free consult looks desperate. Go ahead and meet Dr. Schreiber and that’s 100% proof I made the right choice. I won’t write a novel, mostly because you’re less likely to read all of it (and I think you should) so I’ll go with bullet points and photos. J

Dr. Schreiber:

· NEVER EVER makes you feel rushed. You can ask this man 1,000 questions and he will still ask you (patiently) if you have any other questions/concerns. (I did it.. heck..even my mom did… haha)
· He will show you pictures. He will show you your pictures. He will do all the things you’re expecting of a doctor without pressuring you to choose surgery. You feel like you’re in good hands. He isn’t promising you anything he feels he cannot achieve.
· Yes – I was that patient sending him pictures of belly button’s I liked (who does that?!). After having a so-not-cute one for most of your life, you become obsessed.

The Office:

· Conditions: Extremely clean and organized
· Staff: You can tell the doctors run a tight ship - every staff member takes the time to be friendly and make you feel very comfortable. You can tell there is a lot of rules in effect and they will be followed. I know it may seem like I’m making the doctors sound like control freaks and the staff sound miserable (totally not the case) but I want to emphasize that I never felt like I’d be that patient with the missing chart, unanswered email/phone call, etc… This is not the type of field to be lax…and you can tell they know it.

The Surgery:

· Let me start out by saying that I needed all of my muscles sewn back into place (and all of that medical jargon that goes along with it). This surgery was the most pain, discomfort, torture, ‘I can’t believe I’ve done this to myself’ feelings I have ever had in my life (I’ve had a c-section, kidney stones, ex-husband, etc..). I was miserable. I read all of those blogs about people standing upright and going about their days. I read the nightmares too... the complications, etc. I felt like my skin was so tight, I could burst open. I couldn’t sleep (I’m terrible with medicine.. I never take it.. my body reacts very strongly to anything I take). I had absolutely no appetite. I’d go on but really… I have never been so miserable (ever). Not trying to scare anyone, I just want to explain how well Dr. Schreiber can handle “crazy.”
· I emailed him about changing pain meds… Texted him (YES, he gives you his CELL number). He tells you to contact him whenever you need him. I never want to be that person. I don’t want to be a burden to anyone. Well..that changed; Oh I was totally that person. Middle of the night because I was in so much pain/discomfort and the pain meds made me so itchy. He acted like it was 11:00AM and handled all of my concerns. Called in a different prescription (right away), followed up with me, checked to make sure I received the prescription and how I was reacting to them.
· I contacted him about every stitch that I was concerned about (yes, they all healed just fine but I was paranoid). He told me to come see him EVERY single time if it would make me feel better; even let me send him a picture. He always made time for me.
· He would try to make me feel better and discuss the bikini weather coming up. I tried to agree but thought “Mmmhhmmm – I didn’t even feel confident in one of those when I was 16.”

Ok – so remember one thing… I was very active before the surgery. Not nearly as excited about being active as I am now but I genuinely tried really hard to look fit. It was never going to happen because of the abdominal issues I had but I want to tell you that so you don’t think this comes easy.

Dr. Schreiber was right. I’ll give credit when it is deserved. I stopped in there a few weeks ago to show him my scar. He remembers me, stuff about me, things we have discussed over the year… you’re not just ‘another patient.’ He may be more expensive than some other doctors but this is not a designer handbag. This is your life, health, confidence and happiness…

Oh… and now.. I can’t own enough bikinis.
