Can any body tell me if they use any natural remedies for swelling or pain that has work for youll.
Sharon at RealSelf (Community Manager) 13 Dec 2010

Bromelain is supposed to be good for swelling. It's found naturally in foods like pineapple but you can also buy bromelain supplements.

newyo1710 13 Dec 2010
Thank you did it work for you.
Kimmers25 (Community Manager) 13 Dec 2010

The only thing that helped my swelling was elevating my feet, rest, drinking plenty of fluids and ice packs.  I had very minimal bruising so that was never an issue for me.   I was only blessed with the SWELL HELL!

I took bromelain and arnica Montana starting 4 days before through 4 days after surgery. They were for swelling and bruising. Not sure what it would have been like without them, but my swelling and bruising have been manageable.

As for natural pain meds- never heard about that and I doubt they'd work for me. I need the strong stuff!

daffy173 (RealFriend) 16 Dec 2010
Thanks. Im very pleased and frankly, still cant believe it when i look in the mirror

Yes all your roller coaster of feelings are normal! Do you have an early surgery? If not, try some yoga or something soothing in the morning. I became strangely calm that morning.

Then when you get there you're just too busy witht the nurses, etc getting prepped to even think about it. Next thing you know you're under a warm blanket, drugs flow and you wake up skinny!
newyo1710 16 Dec 2010
Thankyou so much you made me feel a little better.
trena 16 Dec 2010
I like the wake up skinny part the best.lol

Well, how did it go for you? I am 2 1/2 days out and finally feeling on the upswing. The first 24 hours were the worst.
Have your kids given you any crap over it? My son said he's embarrassed to tell anybody that I had a tummy tuck because he thinks I'm mental for having it done. Of course, he thinks moms don't need to feel sexy ;) After all, by having him I must have already fulfilled my reproductive obligation.
newyo1710 18 Dec 2010
I am doing great still very slipping but very good thanyou for asking.
