Three cheers for the RealSelf Tummy Tuck Community! I'm so glad it's helped you through your decision-making process. Please keep us posted on how you're doing throughout your TT journey.
Have you read Kimmers' Tummy Tuck Survival Guide? It's hilarious and packed full of great info too!
Bromelain is supposed to be good for swelling. It's found naturally in foods like pineapple but you can also buy bromelain supplements.
The only thing that helped my swelling was elevating my feet, rest, drinking plenty of fluids and ice packs. I had very minimal bruising so that was never an issue for me. I was only blessed with the SWELL HELL!
As for natural pain meds- never heard about that and I doubt they'd work for me. I need the strong stuff!
Temple,
I am sending warm wishes and good thoughts your way for tomorrow.
I look forward to hearing from you after the surgery. You will do wonderful and come home with a nice new tummy.
That is normal Temple...it is just a little anxiety but it will all be fine.
Yes all your roller coaster of feelings are normal! Do you have an early surgery? If not, try some yoga or something soothing in the morning. I became strangely calm that morning.
Then when you get there you're just too busy witht the nurses, etc getting prepped to even think about it. Next thing you know you're under a warm blanket, drugs flow and you wake up skinny!
Hi Temple...thinking about you and hope you are doing well.
That is wonderful news! Keep resting, take your meds and drink plenty of fluids.
Thank you for the update.
Have your kids given you any crap over it? My son said he's embarrassed to tell anybody that I had a tummy tuck because he thinks I'm mental for having it done. Of course, he thinks moms don't need to feel sexy ;) After all, by having him I must have already fulfilled my reproductive obligation.
