The best thing in the world was the hope to walk and have a normal life. To be able to walk, fly, ride a bus, go up a step. I had to get the GA insurance commission help me with the health insurance coverage, which they did; but because the band around my stomach was considered cosmetic surgery, I had to pay 4,ooo dollars out of pocket. All those things have happened and more. But, no one explained, or I did not hear, what would happen next.

The fat on my legs hand off and the insurance companies won't help with the cost of surgery. Each year, since 2006 I have gained 10 pounds, and I keep hearing it is my fault. I don't eat much, most times good things, sometimes to much butter or cheese. Things I can digest. Others eat everything, I cannot, that's okay, but I have gained wait, and I am horrified. I never got to my "quote" normal weight. I stoped at 190 pounds and my body wouldn't cooperate any more. Now I weigh 250 and so depressed and upset with myself.

I was falling down alot because of the weight on my legs, and I started walking and working out, but I fell really bad last year and took me months of physical therapy to have confidence just to walk, yet I look down all the time, so I do not trip. Yet the doctors tell me they cannot help me. What do I do? Where do I go? I do not want to weight 560 pounds again!! Help, please help

The doctor I had really helped me, I was one of two he started with that was over 500 pounds. So I was like an experiment. He now has done so many, and has support groups as well, Unfortunately, I feel, he has forgot why he started do this in the first place. He had empathy and compassion. Now I feel its just money. He blames me for my weight gain, and has said many negative things to me. That is why I wont say his name. He is a good doctor, but I have personal issures with him. I had my surgery in Octo. 2000. It is now Jan. 2011

Hi Meg. I'm sorry you're having a rough time at the moment. Have you spoken to any other bariatric doctors? Maybe they can look at your food intake, vitamin/mineral intake and exercise routine and give you some advice?

You've done really well to get this far, you just need a little support along the way. We do have a doctor community where you can ask questions. Click this link if there's anything specific you'd like a bariatric surgeon to answer for you.

Good luck and please come back and let us know how you're doing.

Hi Meg -- I'm so sorry for all that you've been through. You've done amazing to come this far, getting from 560 to 250. You may not be where you want to be but please don't think badly of yourself; getting this far is quite an accomplishment. You've done so well.

Have you been to your regular doctor to make sure you don't have any metabolic issues, like an underactive thyroid, that might be stopping you from losing weight?
