Twenty-Nine Year old white male with Irish, German...

Twenty-Nine Year old white male with Irish, German and Eastern European ancestry. For many years I was unsatisfied with the look of my nose. It was crooked with the top deviating toward my left eye and a bump prominent for Eastern European ancestry. After many years I finally was able to proceed with having surgery to fix the look of my nose. I remembered watching a Plastic Surgery program on television with Dr. Maloney performing Rhinoplasty on a patient and I was eager to explore the possibility that he would perform a similar procedure. I was willing to travel almost anywhere in the country to have this procedure including California. I live in the South East United states and Dr. Maloney’s Atlanta office was a convenience but it was not a large contributing factor to having him perform the procedure. Upon having a consultation with him he also pointed out that I had excess fat in my face and also suggested having liposuction to my face along with tightening under my chin as I had a bit of a double chin. I had noticed my face was looking fuller throughout my twenties in part due to excess weight gain and lack of exercise in college but I also have other family members with round-full faces. Dr. Maloney also explained this type of fat was more genetic and was not likely to be reduced with regular diet and exercise like other fat cells in the body. I agreed as I was beginning to exercise regularly and was not seeing my face looking slimmer.

Dr. Maloney examined my nose and determined not only was it crooked but with the help of X-Rays from my ENT I had a slight deviated septum and nose spurs. I also explained to Dr. Maloney I suffer from headaches to my forehead area and he explained that the air passing through my nose could be very turbulent from my deviated septum and nose spurs and it could be drying out the air and causing my headaches. He was eager to see if surgery could also help with reducing my headaches.

It has been just over a year since my surgery in October 2013 and I can say I am very satisfied with the results. My nose is straight and the bump from my nose has been removed I can also breathe much more clearly than before surgery. My face is also less full and I have a bit more sculpted appearance but also my headaches have also decreased greatly. I occasionally get a headache that is easily tolerated with Tylenol but nowhere near the frequency or duration I experienced before surgery. I was a bit nervous before surgery as any surgery is a serious matter but also I did not want anything drastic since I still wanted to look like myself just an enhanced version. I returned to work 10 days later and nobody really noticed I had surgery until they inquired about my vacation and then they said they thought I looked a little different but it was more subtle differences and looking more refreshed and having a much more balanced appearance. In all it took about 6-12 months for a full reduction in swelling, but by 2-3 months one could not tell I had surgery.

I am very satisfied with my results and decision to have surgery but also glad I chose Dr. Maloney. People have asked who performed my Rhinoplasty/Septoplasty and I do not hesitate to tell them about Dr. Maloney. He truly understands his craft and how to achieve a balanced look for his patients. His staff is also terrific as they handled my appointments, scheduling and worked with my insurance to make my decision to have surgery as worry free as possible. Besides going to college that has allowed me to have a start to a satisfying career, having surgery with Dr. Maloney was one of the best decisions I have made. One’s health and well-being is a very important and that should include how you look and feel so if you choose to have surgery with Dr. Maloney I hope it is as rewarding and satisfying as my experience. Thank you Dr. Maloney!
