Exchange of Ruptured Breast Implant and New Implants Placed - Atlanta, GA

My name is Velma V. from outside of Athens , GA . I had breast implants (saline) , (330cc's, C-cup size,) placed when I was 26 years old (Im 43 now), and 13 years later I had my left implant rupture. ( Due to scar tissue ). I replaced both implants with saline again in 2009 and went a little larger (420cc's, D -cup size ). I was always wanting more fullness and cleaveage and even though each time I was wishing I had chosen to go even larger ,I wasnt unhappy with the final results. This year October 2014 I once again had my implant (right side this time) rupture. My previous surgeon retired and another doctor has taken over the exisiting practice. I scheduled an appt with the new doctor ( located in Athens, GA) and was very disappointed with his responses to my questions about my implant replacement and the size I was desiring to achieve. HE SAID THAT GOING UP A COUPLE OF SIZES COULDNT BE DONE DUE TO MY BUILD AND HE HAD UGLY REMARKS TO EVERY PICTURE I TRIED TO SHOW HIM THAT I LIKED ON IMPLANT SIZE AND HE WANTED TO GO BACK WITH BASICALLY WHAT I ALREADY PREVIOUSLY HAD . NOT ONLY WAS HIS UNCONCERNED ATTITUDE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, HIS PRICES WERE NEARLY 2,000 DOLLARS MORE THAN THE PRICE I ACTUALLY PAID WITH DR COLGROVE!. So, I started shopping around the Atlanta area and come across Dr Robert Colgrove's website. I read reviews after reviews and was very impressed with the comments everyone has made about DR Colgrove's craftmanship and the service they have received and felt that without any secondguessing that a Dr with those kind of reviews and having a "5 STAR RATING, that choosing him for my surgeon was a "no brainer!" Seeing he has over 25 years experience and has such an awesome rating (not to mention almost 2,000 dollars cheaper), I decided to make my consultation appt. When I walked into the office I felt so relaxed. The way the office is decorated it gives such a sense of relaxation and ease! THe staff (everyone) was very friendly and enviting ,an took the time to answer any questions that I had (and never once seem to grow impatient with me - (especially the mumerous times I called with questions or concerns that came to mind after the fact.). Dr Colgrove was so kind and never seem to be rushed to leave the room. He put my mind at ease about going larger and told me it could be done and made copies of the pics that I took to show him of the size and fullness that I was longing for. He was very confident that it could easily be attained and he took my measurements and we tried in some sizers on and he recommended that I go up to 720cc (DD+). The nurse took the time to show me on the computer by taking actual pics beforehand of what I would look like with the new size -( which helped me to have an idea of what my final outcome was going to be).I've always been self-consciousof being over weight, and I can say that I never once felt that the staff was judgemental toward me and it made me feel like I could trust them enough to know that they were concerned for my best interest and not focused on every flaw that I have! I scheduled my bloodwork appt the very next week and at the end of that week my surgery was schduled. Everything went very well. I was very nervous and once again the staff was very reassuring that all would be just fine. The surgery went well , the exisiting implants were removed ,and once again, my exisiting implant had ruptured due to scar tissue around it. Dr Colgrove had to create new pockets for the larger implants to rest in and he removed the exisiting scar tissue that had surrounded my implants, and then successfully placed my new implants in place. The surgery went very well!Dr Colgrove is a very good surgeon and he takes the time to listen to the patient 's concerns and will answer any questions his patients may have very honestly. I even called the office a couple of days after my surgery and Dr Colgrove actually answered the phone and took the time to answer my questions! Most doctors would never pick up the phone to answer a patient call - either the answering service or the staff would deal with the call. He is so down to earth and polite and really makes you feel at ease about the surgery hes going to be performing on you. I am in my second week of post op healing and the staff cant believe that Im doing so good. The first couple of days were probably the hardest because of being very sore from my surgery, but Dr Colgrove doesnt lack in making sure you have every type of medication that you will need to keep you comfortable and as painfree as possible! I TRUELY CANT STRESS ENOUGH TO ANYONE THAT MAY BE CONSIDERING USING DR COLGROVE , THAT YOU WONT REGRET YOUR CHOICE! !!!!EVERY ONE IS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND CARING AND THE STAFF TRUELY WANTS THEIR PATIENTS TO BE HAPPY WITH THEIR RESULTS! DR COLGROVE WILL DO A FANTASTIC JOB BECAUSE HE IS SUCH A PROFECTIONIST AND THE RESULTS ARE TRUELY A WORK OF ART! I will continue to use Dr Colgrove with any future work I may choose to have done! He will listen to your concerns and desires and will produce results that will astound you!!!!
