It has taken me over 4 years to finally find the right procedure and the right doctor. I had saggy jowls which made me look grumpy and I did not want to be a grumpy grandmother. I had given up because of all the bad facelifts and other less invasive things with terrible reviews. Then I noticed the Biltmore Lift while searching on my computer. It sounded like exactly what I needed, a mini face lift and with the option of a chin lift along with it. But it still took me another year to get the courage to call and make an appointment for a consultation. As soon as I met Dr. Harley I knew I was in the right place. He is a gracious, kind and very confident doctor who tells you the truth about whatever you ask him and there is no pressure. He truly has the best "bedside manner" of any doctor I have ever met. You can make an appointment that very day or go home and think about it without fear of phone calls and emails. Its all about you. I thought about it and called on Monday morning. I received a list of what to do to prepare in the week or two before the surgery. In order to lessen the effects of any bruising I might get, I bought Arnica pellets in the 30 strength to take beginning a few days before, during and after my procedure. I also got plenty of Pineapple as recommended to help with healing after. The hardest part of the procedure was getting up to be there at 6:30 am. After that it was a breeze. Doctor Harley mixes a "cocktail" out of the prescriptions you the week before you come that morning. Then you just drift off and when you wake up its done and your head is encased in a soft cloud. So to speak. There is a wrapping around your head to protect the stitches that first night which will be removed at your visit the next day. I had a little bruising under one eye on one side of my face and some swelling which is to be expected. The most important thing to remember is to keep your head elevated during sleep and not to bend over for several weeks after the surgery. After the stitches are removed about 10 days later you can begin putting a cream on the scars to help them heal. I still took the arnica and you can massage the swollen areas. I really did not feel any pain, only tightness as though I had a hat on and tied around my chin.
I am so happy I finally found the right doctor. At my six week appointment he hugged me and I left wishing I could clone him so I could have him for all my doctors. He is such a gifted doctor.
