Botox spread from the injection sites with...

Botox spread from the injection sites with horrifying results. Two months ago I had Botox injections in my 11’s, forehead, crows feet and upper lip. Shortly after the injections I had difficulty swallowing, throat & tongue swelling, hoarseness, racing heart beat, dry eye, throat and neck pain, rash on my neck and face, and bruising around my left eye. I was in and out of the emergency room and hospital during the first week. The Botox migrated into my cheeks, nose, upper and lower gums, tongue and lower lip. Although my symptoms have slowing been dissipating, I still have numbness in all of these areas and my swallow function is still not back to normal, but is improved. A few days after the injections I developed muscle weekness in my upper arms and back of legs and buttocks. I was on high dose steroids and antihistamine drugs to control the symptoms and have been able to taper the dose to a low level over the past two months, but I have not been able to discontinue the drugs. The whole experience feels like a nightmare. I could have lost my life! I now I a mountain of medical bills to pay on top of dealing with my health issues.

The true number of problems that occur with Botox and other drugs are not known because the FDA does Not require doctors to report any adverse effects. Reporting is voluntary, so if you experience any problems they should be reported to FDA Medwatch, which has a quick online reporting form. Don’t do Botox!
