I'm a 35 yr old mother of 3. My youngest is 15 mths old. I am scheduled for a consultation in 2 weeks and I am very excited. I have wanted this for about 10 years now. I had a lot of stretch marks with my first child and I had a hernia with my second and a large baby. I exercise at least 5 times a week but my tummy is flabby and I'm 165 lbs. Ladies, will I be able to carry my 18 lb baby around after surgery and will I loose any weight from the procedure?

I had a TT three weeks ago tomorrow & I was not able to pick up my 18 month old for about two weeks. First week my husband stayed home and the second week he went to the babysitters. I still try not to pick him up but if I'm the only one around then I have to. I use my arms and legs mostly..after about a minute I start to feel a burn (which is from the muscle repair) & I quick put him down. Good luck & definitely have help with the little one for the first few weeks bc they say you shouldnt lift anything over 10Lbs for 4-6 weeks.

Thanks for the advice. I had my consult and the cost is 9100. that is a lot more than I thought. There is over 3k in hospital fee and another 1500 for anesthesia. Good news is he said I don't need lipo but i'm finding it hard to get any reviews on the surgeon or any way of comparing fees without having a consult with every doc in the area and I really just want to schedule and do it in the near future.

hey! i have a 19 month old and a 3yr old and i have been avoiding all lifting (unless there is an emergency) for diapers changes i make my kids hop up on the couch and i sit next to them to change them and for bed i make them hop up into bed and if they need a boost i use my arm muscles. for bending i bend with my knees so that im not bending at the waist. for the first week i had a friend stay at my house with me 24/7 which was awesome and hubby was able to help when he wasnt working. then i was at my sisters house for a couple of days as well so she could "babysit" me and my kids. now i have started my first week by myself (when hubby is at work im alone with the kids) and its been pretty good! im 2 weeks post op today and i feel great but im not gonna push myself because i dont wanna pop anything or hurt myself. good luck on your Tummy Tuck!!

Ladies I am so impressed with all of you out there who do this and have babies...WOW!  Can't even imagine having to chase and take care of little ones during this recovery.

Try not to lift anything for the first two weeks for safety reasons.  You do not want to blow anything out.

Everyone is different as far as dropping pounds after this surgery.  I did not start to notice any weight changes or clothing sizes dropping for the first 4-6 weeks so be patient.

Keep us up to date on your process.  You have come to the right place for information and support.
