Increasingly, when I looked in the mirror or saw pictures of myself, it was not only depressing, it was strange - like it wasn't even me. My greatest concern was that whatever characteristics about my face appealed to my kids and were familiar, might be altered. I wanted to look more like my old self without becoming a stranger to them, and he totally nailed it.
