Active FX - Worth It So Far

Worth It
Spent: $2,750 in New York

I am 45 yrs old and had Active FX done 2 days ago. I was put to sleep which I think was great considering reviews from people who were awake.

When I awoke after the procedure they already had my face iced and lubricated. I went home and continued to ice all day and night as well as lubricate with Acquafor. I did not feel any pain although I was uncomfortable because I had to continually keep icing and lubricating. This is really key as you keep the swelling down and the lubricant keeps it from drying.

I did not look so bad Day 1. Day 2 I woke and did not see any swelling, I was very brown. Again I have been lubricating constantly as this is very important to healing. Day 3 I already feel the skin wanting to slough off. I am not peeling this off I am still constantly lubricating and I am going back to the doctors tomorrow and they are going to take care of this for me.

I cannot say enough about how important your choice of doctor is. My doctor and his staff are terrific. They know what they are doing and have called twice to see how I am doing and to answer any questions. I can see already that my skin is smoother and wrinkles are barely visible at all. I will update again after tomorrow's doctor's visit.

My Doctor:

My rating:
My doctor and his staff gave me all the information I needed and then some. They have been completely accurate so far. They are patient and very nurturing and have the experience to perform this procedure.

Just to update - I had the procedure on Monday, today is Friday. I went to the doctors yesterday and they washed my skin very gently with a cleanser a few times then applied more lubricant. A lot of the brown skin came off and by that night most of it was gone as I had to cleanse & lubricate every 3 hours. Today, Friday I actually look much better - I'm pinkish and but for the lubricant making me shiny I look pretty good. I can not see any wrinkles and according to my daughter, who is a tough critic, I look really good. I think my doctor did a great job & I think it was worth it. People who day they see no difference probably either did not have much to improve or their doctor used a very low setting. My doctor went as deep as he could and that is why I see great results.

I had it done in December. I had little results, except under the eyes, non on the lower part of face. I am 51. Did you see results on the neck and lower face?

No, I did not see results on the lower part of my face. They went light on my neck because I did not need much there. I see little improvement under my eyes. I see most of the results on the upper part of me face, but I still do not see enough to justify the downtime and cost.

I had active fx done three days ago. I drove myself as I was advised it would be fine t drive home. Big mistake. With in 2 hours of the treatment I could not see and was so swollen it blinded me for the first 48 hours. It is extremly painful and the extremes was not explained to me. My face is still swollen after three days. Being blind was the worst feeling one could imagine. I would not do this gain, not for this type of pain and suffering. i don't care the results.

taking a homopathic remedy called arnic just prior to tx. and immediately following and then every 2hrs. will help with some of the swelling, etc...as will putting really cold, clean washcloth on your face. Another homopathic remedy called traumaline works great too (it contains arnica in it along with other remedies). In order for these remedies to work, it's best taken on an empty stomach and away from mint (toothpaste),cigarettes, (an hr.before or an hr.after)
