After reading many reviews the night before my...

After reading many reviews the night before my Zoom Whitening procedure I was so nervous I almost cancelled. I'm glad I didn't!!I immediately expressed my concerns with the dentist when I got to the appointment. She answered all my questions and made me feel very safe and comfortable. I then read over the zoom procedure which I had to sign to understand that THE PROCEDURE IS NOT RISK FREE. I also signed a form which confirmed I was not on any perscriptions that cause photo-sensitivity (the form listed them). After that the dentist got right to work gently covering every inch of tissue she could see. She even looked with a mirror and used the plastic "goo" to cover between my teeth. She allowed me to get comfortable and put my ipod in and then positioned the light and turned it on. She explained she would sit with me for 5 minutes to make sure everything was ok and I wasn't in any pain for feeling any burning. After about 6 minutes she left after I indicated with a thumbs up, that I was good. After about 8 minutes with the light my front 4 teeth began to feel uncomfortable and sort of "ached", it was a dull pain. After the first 15 minute session the dentist removed all the solution and re-prepped for the second session. The second and third session I didn't feel any pain in my teeth, but I was starting to get very uncomfortable. My head, neck, back, jaw hurt. After the third session the dentist said I could go for one more session, but I declined I felt my teeth were very white after 3 sessions. The dentist gave me a take home kit to do the "fourth" session the next day. The dentist gave me a brush on flouride treatment for 10 minutes and then suctioned everything off and took everything out of my mouth! When I was walking out and getting my take home kit I felt two "zings" in my bottom teeth. It was painful, but lasted for a second... While driving home I had 3 more zings. I took motrin when I got home and haven't felt anythin since. After the procedure my lips were chapped and a little numb. I put some chapstick on and so far so good!! You should try this procedure. Even if you feel pain for burning, you can stop the procedure immediately. I have sensitive teeth, so my dentist told me to brush with sensodyne before the procedure. I did and I felt that really helped! My teeth are DEFINITELY whiter.
