“Smart Lipo on Upper Arms”

My friend thought her upper arms were too big for the rest of her, she is not over weight but had a pound taken from each upper arm.

It is 6 weeks out now and her arms look like they have been through a meat grinder. They are still quite sore and very lumpy, parts are numb. There is some wrinkled skin (although doesn't hang down much) at the bottom. Her Dr was not board certified and has done "less than 5 arms". He took a pound off each arm and there is a definitel "step" between her lipo'd arm area and where he stopped abruptly at the top of her arms. She has trouble reaching up high over her head because it is tight and stretches. She is still discolored from bruising also.

Maybe this is to be expected? But the Dr couldn't tell her since he has done so few of these. He did not only the bottoms of her arms but also all the way around. Can anyone tell us if this is a problem or if she just needs to wait it out yet? It was smartlipo. Right after the procedure, she said it also felt like her arms had been burned. I know 6 weeks is early in healing yet but just would like to know if things should still be this bad and if not is there anything eventually that can fix it.
