Uneven Short Scar Facelift/one Eye Higher Than Other Eye

Not Sure
Spent: $8,000 in usa

I had facelift three months ago. It was short scar. One side was and remains much tighter than other. The eye on the tighter side appears appr. 2mm higher than other eye. (Eyes were even and symmetrical before surgery.)

Spent a great deal of money and time only to have big worries now. Wondering how this could have happened to me, I'd done everything I could to prevent it.

I feel pretty sad that I did this to myself, and it isn't because I didn't research or choose a highly touted doctor. Did I just get unlucky? Any reason to hope it'll get better with time? Thank you very much.

Unusual for an eye to appear higher after a facelift unless there was also a brow lift incorporated or the eyes were done? Many patients have a pre-existing eyelid asymetry which may become more evident after a facelift. However, if the difference is really in brow position, it can often be adjusted by simply having someone even out the brows by a combination of plucking and pencil.

I am so sorry that this happened to you. Sometimes no matter how careful you are in explaining what you want, in finding the right doctor, etc. these things happen. I know because I am in the same situation now and I am hoping for the best. I wish you had included a picture. perhaps it is not that noticeable and can be hidden with makeup. Also, perhaps you are still healing. I have one eyebrow slightly higher than the other and when I do my makeup I compensate for the difference. Years ago, I had laser vision correction (not cosmetic) and afterwards some people were telling me ridiculous things, like I had one eye larger than the other. Which was not true. They were trying so hard to find something.
