For about 10 years after the procedure all was well. I am 56 now and have gained some weight. Most of it went to my tummy.

Why is excess weight in my tummy & feels stretched out and uncomfortable after eating. Is this normal and what can/should I do about it?

since your tummy area went through all that trama, its tending to store fat in that main area because your body thinks it needs it there, and since you had your tummy tuck done a while ago, the doctors say its happens, gravity takes affect. i would try limiting your sodium intake, that is one main cause after plastic surgery that can lead to weight gain in the surgery area, sodium soaks up and stores water like a cactus.

Thank you for your response! I am pretty cautious about sodium but maybe I need to step that up a bit, however, i understood that once you have fat liposuctioned out it wont/cant return to that area. Isn't that correct? What's interesting about my tummy is that not only is it distended it is very solid, as if there is something inside pushing it out. Thats the best way I can describe it. Hope it makes sense to you. Thanks again! Jane

I am 52 and had a tummy tuck 9 years ago, and seem to have the same symptons you describe. My tummy protudes above my belly button and feels as if it is being pushed from the inside out. My tummy is very hard too, not jiggley or loose, can feel uncomfortable at times especially after I eat. My Dr once advised me to take VB6 as mild diuretic and that helps elimate water retention...don't do it very often only when I feel really miserable. Just seems as if I retain water more now. Anyway wanted to let you know you are not alone in how you feel

Thanks! It is always nice to know you are not the only one. I use VB6 also but as you said, it's mild so it doesn't seem to help much with water retention. I want to find a solution to this. I didn't pay all that money and go through all that to just end up with a protruding tummy again! I thought this site would connect me to an actual doctor who could help me with this issue. I guess I was wrong.
