Smart Lipo for Arms - Poor Results

Not Worth It
Spent: $2,620 in West Bloomfield, MI

In 2007 I had External Ultrasonic Liposuction with Smart Laser on my upper arms to reduce the overall size and make them more in proportion to my petite frame. First the ultrasonic lipo was performed, followed by the Smart Lipo.

I don't think the Smart Lipo worked, and I'm not sure the doctor did the procedure in the right order. Also, when he used the Smart Lipo wand, it was only a few seconds on each arm. I would think that part should have lasted longer.

My results are not satisfactory at all. While I can tell there is less fat, the skin did not retract or tighten in any way and now my arms look worse than before. They are the same size (circumference) just less full with loose skin.

I'd like your opinion as to whether or not the procedure was done correctly and do you think trying just the Smart Lipo (with a different doctor)would tighten the skin now?

Updated on Aug 2, 2009:

If liposuction is performed first followed immediately by the Smart Lipo wand, can you expect the same results, or should the Smart Lipo wand be used first?  And if lipo was done previously but now I'm just looking for skin tightening, can I just do Smart Lipo?  Might that help tighten the skin?

My Doctor:

He never offered to redo the area at no cost, only tried to sell me other procedures to "enhance" the results. He did do a touchup at no cost, but only to try to fix the divot he created. He was very intimidating when I expressed my dissatisfaction and showed no interest in my satisfaction. He said he thought my arms looked fine. He also said he never promised the circumference would be reduced, just that fat would be removed.

I had my arms done this morning actually and he used the smart lipo wand for atleast 10 or 15 minutes on each arm for me. I'm curious to see about my results but the doctor I went to is supposedly really good. What your doctor did just doesn't seem right.

That's what I thought. I'm trying to get more doctor input so I can go back to the doctor that did the SmartLipo and have him do something about it. I appreciate your reply. Just curious, what state are you in?
