“Vaser / Smart Lipo Scarring on Legs”

I have dark scars on my legs 1cm in length after smart & vaser lipo. The surgeon didn't seem very concerned when I went back and said they would fade to white lines. It has been a year in October and they have faded by are still dark and I know can't wear certain length dresses or swimwear as the scars are too noticable.
Pros- it did work and change my shape & recovery time was very quick
Cons - the scarring I wasn't prepared for how noticable the scarring was and am now quite embarassed as the ones on my outer thighs can be seen when wearing normal summer dresses
Is this scarring normal? All the pics I can find on the Net show no scarring!This review is the subjective opinion of a RealSelf member and not of RealSelf, Inc.

He wasn't interested when I queried the scarring yet is supposed to be the top London specialist in this field!
