“Gortex Implant on Nasal Bridge, Now Want It Removed”
Posted 11 Jun 2009
Hi, I had a primary rhinoplasty and was originally suppose to have my nostrils narrowed but my surgeon proposed doing the tip as well using my septal cartilage. I did not want to change my profile however because I loved the way it looked.
According to my dr, my bridge dropped a bit when the septal cartilage was removed and created a bump between my droppped cartilage & existing bone - which he had to smooth out by shaving down a little of the bone with his knife (under 1 mm). Now I have a Gortex implant in my bridge that I absolutely hate because it makes my bridge look extremely high and unnatural.
Is it possible to remove the Gortex implant and get back my old bridge (even though the bone was shaved slightly) - or will I end up with a bridge that is lower than my original?
