Worth It
Spent: $8,000 in San Jose, CA

My procedure was done because I wanted the bridge of my nose closer to my face. The recovery was wonderful, almost no bruising, wonderful doctor.

I had rhinoplasty the week of July 3rd. The profile is beautiful, it's just perfect, BUT the tip is pointing down. When I smile, it seems as though my nose is drooping. I hate it. Will this go away?

When a person smiles, it is natural for nostrils to go wider and tip to slightly go downward (while staying in line with the bridge). So I think it's fine but if you want more or better opinions, I would post pics of your nose with before smiling and after.

Muscles of animation along the lateral (sides) of the nose do act in pulling the sides of the nose outward therefore "widening" them. These muscles can been surgically released (I ask all patients prior to rhinoplasty if this is an issue for them) at the time of Rhinoplasty. However, I do see patients with this complaint and have injected botulinin toxin to minimize the widening. See your surgeon or a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for an evaluation.

Thank you Dr. John! I will ask my doctor about botulinin toxin to minimize widening.
