Revision Rhino Resulting In Retracted Alars

I decided to have revision rhinoplasty on my nose that was already okay. I just wanted it to be slightly narrower, and I stressed that I did not want any more changes done to my doctor.

I'm now 5 weeks post op and yes I have a narrower nose but I ended up with alar retraction. I now look like I'm snarling since my nostrils are flared.

I am scared to undergo another revision rhinoplasty for fear that it will only get worse instead of better. But I am very unhappy with the way I look now and it has taken a toll on me. I am very depressed.

What is the best way to fix retracted alars resulting from revision rhinoplasty without making it worse? And can it be done through a closed procedure?

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Give it time - at least 1-year. If you are not satisfied, do more research to find good doctors. There is always a way out (especially if your skin type is "thick". Good luck to you!
