“Liposuction - Upper/lower Abs, Hips, Flanks and Lower Back”
Spent: $11,000 in Provo, UT
Eight months ago I had a breast augmentation and liposuction on my upper and lower abdomen, hips, flanks, and lower back.
I chose to have the procedure after losing thirty pounds and getting in shape. I had been wanting to do this since I was sixteen years old (I'm 25 now). I have polycystic ovarian disease (PCD) which had the typical effect on my body: I retained weight around my midsection, but had small hips and breasts. Once I got control over the PCD via medication and exercise, I was able to lose weight fairly easily. I was finally thin and healthy for the first time in my adult life... but I had the figure of a prepubescent boy!!!
I decided to get plastic surgery because after battling with body issues my entire adult life, I was finally getting in sync with my body rather than at odds with it. I had done as much as I could on my own but I wanted more curves in some spots and less in others.
The procedure was definitely more painful than I had expected and I definitely needed the entire week I took off from work to heal. I was initially pleased with the results as I saw an immediate difference in my figure. My waist was narrower and my hips had a more feminine shape to them. Although I am pleased with the general shape that I attained, I have moderate surface irregularities on my abdomen and feel that a revision is needed. I also have yet to regain feeling on my left hip/thigh.
Is the numbness that I feel eight months post-liposuction normal? Will the sensation improve? Is a revision likely to correct the irregularites on my abdomen? This review is the subjective opinion of a RealSelf member and not of RealSelf, Inc.
