i wanted to get rid of hair on my face but the effects of laser are not working so im thinking of going back to waxing. i want to know if this is ok.

is it ok to wax instead of continuing laser hair removal treatment?

Hi. sorry to hear your treatment is not working. before I comment I would just like to know how many treatments have you had so far and at what interval? eg 4 weekly/7 weekly? Did you have laser or IPL? are you currently on any medications or have any medical conditions that causes hair growth. Remember. treatment in this area is hormonal hair growth and it will take a course of treatments to get a result as long as you are complying with your pre and post care instructions. Obviously you can go back to waxing, but I for myself it would be a wax t/ment every 3 - 4 weeks and tweezing the dark hairs daily. so im sticking with laser.

You should have no problems going back to waxing once your skin has healed the affects of the laser. Before stopping treatments you might want to consider if your treatments might be working more slowly due to your skin/hair combination.

In a general sense, the lighter your skin and the darker your hair the better treatments will work. A pale skin with blonde hair will get no response even if the technician is using high powered settings, a dark skin with dark hair might not get any respone because the technian would need to use very low power settings to keep the treatment safe. The best response if pale skin/dark hair. Blondes and red heads need not even try.

So, if you fall into the pale/pale or dark/dark groups... go back to waxing knowing that you probably got ripped off if your technician told you it would work for you.
