Not Sure
Spent: $12,000 in Rochester, NY

I'm 63, 5'2", 115 lbs., but due to fat deposits on my back and abdomen I had liposuction in May (as well as a BA).

I've had essential hypertension for 30 years, it's often been difficult to control, and I was taking several meds for it. In June I noticed my readings were lower than usual so I decreased my Felodipine. In July they were still low, so I dc'd it altogether. In September the readings were so low and I was so fatigued that I started cutting my Diovan HCT in half, and have recently made a slight decrease in my Metoprolol as well. My current B/P readings are below 120/80 most of the time. Is this a common occurrance following liposuction?

Is it common for blood pressure to be lower after liposuction?

There are reports in the lierature that high blood pressure and diabetes improved after liposuction. The American Society of Plastic Surgery is sponsoring a study in this regard
