i had a medium lipoma removed - now 4 days later there is a hollow space of air where the lipoma was - is this dangerous?

Lipoma removal is an outpatient procedure. Be sure to ask your surgeon to minimize the size of your scar and to perform layered closure to reduce the risk of seroma formation after lipoma removal. I adhere to these two important principles in all of my lipoma procedures.

Although it poses no danger, having a depression in the area following lipoma removal is quite common if it is not reconstructed properly. That is why it is important to have a plastic surgeon remove medium and large sized lipomas so that they may fill the space with your own tissue and avoid this problem.
