Worth It
Spent: $700 in Hawaii
I am so happy with the results. It took a few treatments but even after the first treatment the results were evident. Advice - go to a qualified dermatologist. I was so happy with the face that I had my neck and chest done. I later had my hands done. I want my legs done but I don't think they do that. If you are fair skinned and have age spots and spider veins, the results are amazing. But please go to a qualifed physician.

I just had IPL treatment yesterday, so I don't have any results yet but after reading some of these comments, I hope that all dermo's know what they are doing. I go to a registered nurse at a plastic surgeons office. She has work as an RN in plastic surgery for over 25 years. I trust her completely and my treatments are only $350.00 per treatment. Some of the prices you guys arwe quoating seem high.

I had my third IPL treatment today. I can really see a difference in my face and the age spots are just about gone. My treatments, 3 so far, have been 200.00 each and the 4 is free. However I know they are increasing the price to 325.00.

Hello, I'm so happy for you 3 commentators! You had IPL and I wonder if you happen to know whether IPL is the same as photo facial? Photo facial is what I took about 2 weeks ago (first application). I noticed that my light age spots didn't turn darker and I'm afraid they won't get removed. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks so much! :o) Rosedala

Well, i had IPL done twice by a technician (she was an RN trained in ipl....but NOT a MD) Now, first one cost me @ $100 and i did notice overall slight fade to sun damage and a notcied improvement in my skin texture and pores were much smaller. 4 weeks later i had my 2nd tx...she increased the "intensity" after discussing my 1st tx response (yes, i did have skin test prior to any tx) I have to admit after my 2nd tx...i had bigger "spots" flake off, and it did hurt quite a bit more. Much more than 1st tx, but only lasted about an hour (just felt like a sunburn) within days darkest spots flaked off...skin does look better. Went back 4 weeks later (i was having hair removal done also) and was told i may not need another tx yet. She said I could probably wait another 3-4 weeks then have a mild tx to get rid of small redness areas (they were always there) but overall i do see a difference. my pores did shrink and my daughter even said how soft my face felt. Mkeup did apply much easier, overall had a pos. experience...BUT I only paid a total f @ $200...FYI, the place I went to has another tech that performed hair removal on a friend's lower legs and she had scars all the way down her chin bone for weeks! It looked awful...i will NOT go to anyone else at this facility other than the RN that treated me. Yes, I think she was more conservative as to the "settings" but I never had any burns or scarring. I will probably go back in Jan. for a 3rd tx. I have medium skintone with dark hair and dark eyes

Thanks so much, pegm. for your thorough report of your IPL experience. On my 1st application, my age brown spots turned pink - they never disappeared! On my 2nd application...they remained pink! It means that, at least on me, they can't remove the pink spots. I also have pink spots of my own, so I hesitate to spend money and time again since, if they haven't been able to take off the pink color they left over, they won't be able to remove my own pink spots either. Before taking the 2nd application I asked the manager to please turn up the power to see if it would do the trick, but was told they don't want to burn me. I think they deliberately do not remove them the first few applications in order to get us to continue taking more. I was told I should take 5 or 6 applications!!! My spots are on hands and lower arms. They charge $150 for each application plus they made me buy some kind of $30 lotion for the "burns" they said (which I wish I didn't buy). So altogether was $630 so far. I heard the laser is more reliable but exceedingly more expensive. Without knowing and seeing someone who actually had it done, I can't afford throwing out more money. pegm. may I know in what city you had it made? I live in NYC so I went to a place here. I wonder if there's such thing as different IPL machines? Because you seem to be much more satisfied... Thanks again and please do let me know? Meantime, I wish all a Healthy, Safe, and Happy New Year! :o) Rosedala
