IPL Peels for Melasma DOES NOT Work

Not Worth It
Spent: $1,000 in Arizona

I have melasma on my forehead, cheeks and chin. I paid $1,000.00 for a package of four IPL treatments. I've had three peels spaced over 4-6 weeks between each one.

The peels are painful with major burning afterwards lasting a few hours after treatment. After three IPL peels my melasma is actually worse. IPL peels DO NOT work for melasma, and if anything it will make the pigmentation darker, like it did on me.

I also had the peel done on the back of my hands to treat sun spots. The laser was set too high and burned my skin to the point of blistering off. I now have burn scars on the back of my hands from the IPL.

The ONLY thing I have found that works for my melasma is Triluma creme which is expensive (about $200 a tube) and by prescription only. This too, is only a temporary treatment as there is no permanent treatment for melasma.
