Worth It
Spent: $6,700 in Newton, Massachusetts

Surgery completed on June 10th in Newton MA. Had procedure to remove waddle (hanging skin from neck) and jowls. Assisting nurse said I was a stellar patient. Went to sleep and didn't wake up until they woke me. Procedure was done at clinic. Checked in at 8:15am, out the door by 2pm.

First night was uneventful. Woke up at 2:30 am with moderate pain, took pain meds, back to sleep and comfortable all night.

Bandages came off today. Very happy with results. Minimal bruising. Stitches look good, as well as any stitches can.

Some pain and tightening (good thing).

Quick notes...

Stuff that worked for me...

* Bought an incline pillow to help sleep in elevated position. Good investment. Supports lower back.  Ordered from JC Penney or get one at Bed, Bath & Beyond.

* Drank EAS shakes (you can buy a four pack at Walmart for $5). Low calories (110), lots of protein, vitamins, etc. Goes down nice with straw on the first day. Good nutrition. I plan on living on these for the next week. Along with soup, coffee and anything else I can get in my face with minimal chewing :).

* Write down when you take your meds. Doctor gave me prednisone, anti-biotics and pain-killers, though he recommend I use the extra-strength Tylenol first and then use the heavy duty ones for any big pains.

Nearly 2 years later, loose neck skin (left over from procedure) is still an issue. Will look into getting it corrected by different doctor.

My Doctor:

My rating:
Dr Weikel set realistic goals for me. His technique was very good as I see minimal bruising and excellent tightening. His staff is very patient and professional. Procedure left a considerable amount of loose skin under chin. Follow up appointment to repair was very disappointing. Told me I would need a 2nd procedure, a zig-zag scar under my chin to remove skin. Wish he had said that BEFORE I had procedure, would have chosen different doctor.

Deb, You look fabulous, 15 years younger, even with your beautiful skin. What type of face/neck lift did you have? Did he lipo your neck? Did you go home or overnight at hotel? What post op assistance did you require? What did the whole procedure cost you? Thank you for posting your pix and story.

You look great! I would like the name of doctor and how you found him--research? references from other patients? Thanks

WOW, and I do mean WOW. I don't know your age, really didn't pay much attention if you mentioned.. but I will venture to say in your first picture.. you look in your 60's. In your new ones, you look in your early 40's.. sheesh, that's awesome.
