Double Vision from Botox

Not Worth It
Spent: $200 in Australia

The treatment wasn't very painful. I had injections in the forehead, between the eyes and around the eye area. I don't seem to have any drooping of the eyebrows or eyelids, just the double vision from about 5 feet away.

Since I had Botox I have double vision. I cannot see the tv or drive very well. Can this be fixed or do I have to wait until the Botox has worn off? Was the Botox too strong or was the dose too much to cause the double vision?

Here are two related advice pages that might help: Double vision from Botox?

Can Botox cause problems such as blurred vision, double vision, and night vision?

How long has it been since you got the injections?

It's been 3 weeks since the injections and I noticed the double vision after about 2 days from the injections

when Botox is used for cosmetic improvement, none of this should happen. I read about the double/blurry vision & always mention it in my instruction courses to prospective injectors. I never saw it in real life since I started offering Botox injections in 1996. By co-incidence, only this week I saw my 1st case of this complication in a patient who was injected elsewhere & came for 2nd opinion. Each eye sees perfect when the other eye is covered. However, vision is blurred with both eyes open. this is due to weakness of the muscles that move one eye, so the 2 eyes do not synchronize their movement & thus send 2 different images to the brain, so the objects seen are blurry. Nothing can be done until the effect of the medication goes away, usually in a several weeks. Most likely, a large dose of botox was injected & part of it went to the 'extra-ocular muscles" & caused this problem.
