The implant was properly placed. the first years I did not have any problem at all not even a minor disconfort.

The problem started in the U.S after i had a minor infection caused by a teeth injury. My doctor in the US did a big cut and touched the implant making it move over my nerve and cause swallen and constant pain.

Hello I had chin implant for around 6 years . The implant was of silicone. But 4 months ago the implant swithched and is affecting my chin's main nerve. My doctor recommend to remove it and replace it by a medpore one screwed to my bone. But after making a little internet research I feel scary about this kind of implant because I don't know if after 2 or 3 year I could get problems again, and don't will have the posibility of reverse this implant.

Question: Undecided to have Chin Silicone Implant Removed or having Medpore Instead? Answer: If the chin silicone implant has been in dwelling for at least 6 months, the shape of the chin is often retained following implant removal. This is related to subcutaneous scar tissue build-up that fills the space where the implant was located. If there is no with the silicone chin implant and the chin contour is adequate, I recommend leaving the implant in place. The implant should be removed or replaced if it is not symmetrical or if the size is deforming. If there is an infection or reaction necessitating the implant removal, I would not recommend replacing the implant with Medpore.
