“Wish I Would've Done It Years Ago, Despite Complications (28 Y/o, Saline Unders)”
AlthoughI've experienced complications it is still the best thing I have ever done. I wish I would've done it a long time ago. I have spent my entire teenage and adult life being self conscious of my A-cup chest on my "average" size frame. I finally feel like a real woman and am more confident in my own skin.
I recently found out at my 4 month checkup that I have capsular contracture on both implants. I am 28 yrs old and have 380cc FT 420cc, saline unders. I am concerned that it is my fault. At my 6 week checkup, I was told by the nurse I could "do whatever I wanted as long as it didn't hurt".
At 7 weeks, I started a strength training program 2-3 days per week with 8 and 10lb weights that included bicep curls, tricep dips, and shoulder press. I also went water skiing and kneeboarding several times around 8-10 weeks.
Also, in retrospect, I probably wasn't very cautious about lifting heavy things in the first few months.
Capsular contracture - I am concerned that it is my fault. Is it possible that my post-op activities contributed to the cc?This review is the subjective opinion of a RealSelf member and not of RealSelf, Inc.

What is capsular contracture?
From what I've read, nobody has a 100% answer as to what causes CC. It could just be a series of unfortunate events.
At any rate, good luck with whatever you decide to do for your CC.
