Not Worth It
Spent: $3,500 in Atlanta, Georgia

Well I have more breast than I had before, that is a pro. And that was the results I was looking for. But I have felt that things are not right and it has effected me negatively.

May 9, 2002 I underwent breast augmentation surgery. I was an A cup before. I never noticed any evident differences in my breasts sizes before. Therefore this was never discussed at my consultation.

In the seven years since my surgery the issues I had mentioned at post-ops have not improved; these issues include differences in placement (or a shifting of the implant?), size, feel, and the shape of my implants. They have actually manifest and become even more uncomfortable than before.

My Doctor: Name not provided

For seven years now I have felt insecure, about approaching a Doctor and telling him that something is not right with the work he performed on/for me (being that I had attempted to call attention to the differences at more than one of my post-op visits and was simply told things were fine); mind you I do not blame the doctor and/or his work-he was great (I only wish I had been more sure of myself/persistent).

If you are not happy with your results and the information you are recieving from your physician is unsatisfactory, I think you need to see another physician. I would recommend researching Board Certified plastic surgeons in your area who perform a significant number of breast procedures (implants, mastopexies/lifts, reconstruction). You should not limit the number of opinions; time and travel permitting, acquire as much information as you can so that you can make an "educated" decision on how best to proceed. JPC

I'm going through a similar thing to you- My right breast is smaller and higher than my left (was always slightly smaller now more obvious), and my nipples are now sitting a different levels which I hate! I have waited 3 years now to be able to afford a revision, and my problems made me very depressed in that time. I have been to consultations with different PS's and they both told me the pocket was placed too high on the right. I will not go back to my previous surgeon for the revision (although it would cost me alot less), because I don't feel he listened to me. If I were you i would go to a few consultations and see what other surgeons say. And please remember that you paid for this operation and you have every right to complain if you are not happy with the results. You're PS may be a very nice person but the main part of their job is customer satisfation. It's your body and your finances, and your concerns deserve to be heard!
