“Breast Aug. to Change Deflated Look After Having 3 Children”
I have had three children and wanted to change the deflated look in my breasts. I chose to have a breast augmentation instead of a lift because of the potential scarring.
I had silicone gel breast implants done 8 weeks ago, under the muscle, and have been evperiencing syptoms since 5 days post op. I had a red rash that was warm to the touch with a low fever. I developed a seroma. My Dr. treated me with two 20 day courses of bactim.
After the meds ended my symptoms returned. My Surgeon referred me to an infectious deseases Dr. who prescribed 10 days zyvox and did a culture for MRSA.
I have severe muscular pain in the pectoral area and around to my back on the right side. The incision site is thinning and purple and filled with fluid and I am so tired of being in pain. Should I wait as suggested...or request to have the implant removed so that I can heal? I went into surgery a very healthy young woman, and I have never been more scared in my life than now with this mysterious infection. This review is the subjective opinion of a RealSelf member and not of RealSelf, Inc.

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear about all you've been through! Has your doctor given any indication about whether removing the implants will help get rid of the infection?
Please keep us posted on your progress. I hope things get better for you.
