“Botox and restylane for scarring”

Botox: Worth it

Cost: $800
Pain: Severe
Botox satisfaction: Fair2 Star Rating: Fair
I recommend my Botox provider: Sign in or join to view provider name
Why: The doctor was patient and explained what she was doing as she did it.

I had both Restylane and Botox in my face today. Had Botox and Restylane due to scarring on forehead from car accident.

It was costly and painful. I am experiencing a burning sensation in the area with the highest concentration of both. That area, the forehead, also seems very swollen appearing as a large, red lump. Is this normal?? If so how best should I deal with this issue?

I had no idea that the pain would be at the level it was. Hope it was worth it!

If the filler is placed to close to the surface it can cause a lump like cyst that doesn't go away...But swelling from the injection is common... Only time will tell... If that;s the case there is an injection Hyloranase(?)something (Your doc will know) In the future I would do juvederm first so you or your doctor can smooth it out or massage it...(Not reccomended after botox) Then get the botox a week or so later...This will also allow a minor touch up of juvy if you need it.... The forehead is unforgiving because it is thinner...I would think a little smoothing or massage would be done...Juvederm seems to spread more than Restylane so it might be fine... Don't freak yet... Check out fat grafting in the future if you like the result it is more permanent if done correctly and has stem cells that also help repair the skin... The recovery is longer but beats getting injections over and over...Especially if your prone to residual needle marks.... Keep us updated!!!!
