Not Worth It
Spent: $3,000 in Corpus Christi

Unintended consequences: One eye now smaller than the other which I am told, after the fact, is 'part of the aging process' and due to dry eyes, which I never had before operation.

Before operation, eyes were beautiful and best feature. This 'aging process' never bothered me up til the day I had this operation. Dry eyes, several different levels of readers now needed when they were not before, spots and brown blobs floating past my vision much of the time. Some types of print are almost impossible for me, an avid reader, to read.

I do not see any advantage to this surgery. The doctor minimalized the negatives or failed to mention them. Blinded by the light. Hope the doctor enjoys whatever toy he got with my money.

Sorry you had a negative experience. Fortunately, most people have great experiences with Lasik and it saves a lot of people a lot of misery dealing with glasses and contacts. Unfortunately, some people do have negative affects. My doc was very clear of the possibilities, it took me a lot of years to make the decision to do this for the mere fact that I like to see, for me it was a positive experience. I hope you obtain some improvement in the future.

I have never heard or read that LASIK (or aging change) can cause one eye to get smaller. Can you elaborate on this phenomena ? I am very curious.
