I had a mole since I was 13 years old on my chin....
I had a mole since I was 13 years old on my chin. It started to get larger and actually sprout hair as I aged. I decided it was time for it to go. Multiple people agreed that my 'beauty mark' had outlived it's beauty. Dr Hayes was willing to remove the mole but also was kind enough to say it could stay without detracting from my face.
I had considered doing this for some time but was ambivalent on whether to go for it. I knew I would trade a scar for mole. Because I hyperpigment with inflammation, I knew the area could turn even larger and darker after removal.
On the day of, Dr. Hayes betadined my face. Numbed me well. Had me lay back and essentially scooped out the mole. NO PAIN. He made the tiniest 4 external stitches you ever saw. They were symmetric and beautiful. I thought I could remove them on my own (as a nurse practitioner) but went back to see him because they were so tiny my smallest suture scissors could not take them out. He was so kind and actually made a housecall for removal.
I love the results. I have skin that hyper pigments. It will take time for the redness to go away. I bought the silicone Obagi gel he recommended and am massaging it 2 times a day with it. Am hoping the redness completely goes away. If not, I will try IPL to remove the pigment.
I am thrilled with the results. There are no dog ears at the end or large divot. It is flawless. Dr. Hayes is a perfectionist and my new bestie. Can't wait to see him again. Oh and Veronica, Stacie, and Lori are wonderful! All my friends are seeing him now for their face - face lift, blepharoplasty, liposuction, and breast augmentation. Also I didn't know if insurance would pay for it but they were willing to bill them. Come to find out insurance would have paid had I met my deductible. Veronica gave me small discount for paying out of pocket and then even mailed me my receipt with a smiley face. Best $253 experience ever!

You meet with Dr. Hayes. He listens to you during consult, really listens. He discusses all your alternatives to the procedure. He then talks about the possible benefits but really emphasizes the scar after. I think he tries to under promise and over deliver, because that's what he did for me!
