I've been using .05 Retin A nightly for 2 months now, for wrinkles and chin acne. I never had irritation or peeling. I don't see any difference yet, except that it may have faded some age spots a little. But the wrinkles (lines) from my mouth corners downward are very red now. Why?
I have been using Tretinoin .05% regularly for about 2 months now. Most of my face is making great improvements both with fine lines and cystic hormonal acne. However, my lower mouth area and chin have not only been red and peeling (which I expected), but it is very bumpy with small under the skin zits? Now my chin has the texture of a Pringles potato chip. Is this just my skin purging and this will improve? I am 34 and did not have any fine lines in this area prior.
Hello dr. I'm using tretinoin cream 0.025 for few weeks now and I noticed that my left cheek has red patch on it and when I touched the red patch it's tight and glossy, shiny at the same time it looks like it's going to peel but not quite. Should I stop using tretinoin cream? And what should I do to make this patch go away? Thank you.
I use Tretinoin Cream (.025%) at night and Clindamycin Phosphate Lotion (1%) in the morning for acne. I wash my face first and then apply, but immediately after, my face turns bright red, burns, and then peels almost like a sunburn. I've been using it for a week and the burning gets worse the more I use it. Should I put more time between washing my face and using them?
My face feels dry, chapped, tight, and scaly. My doctor prescribed Retin-A 0.05% for acne and scarring, and Ive only been using it for 3 days. Theres been no new pimples or acne, but now my face feels as if its been sunburnt, or wind burnt, and is dry, peeling, itchy, and tight. any form of moisturizer (alcohol free, hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, sensitive skin), makes it burns even more. So Ive been using raw Shea butter. Im not sure if i should stop before it gets worse, or if its just gonna be like this for a little while?
I started using retin a originally to get rid of small stubborn acne all skin. My forehead and cheeks. Now that I started using retin a 0.1 my skin is definitely more red and breaking out a lot more. I'm on my second week as of now.
5 months ago i did something stupid. I picked a cystic pimple and then applying BP for 10 seconds (then washed it of). My dermatologist was very optimistic about the scar that it will even out eventually and the color will come back. Its still a bit atrophic and red after 5 months. Today I visited him and was concerned about the fact that on the scar are tiny little bumbs (very small pimples that are hard) and suggested to use Retin A every night on it. Is it safe? Or will cause more scarring??
Hello Switched my retin-A 0.05% creme to a 0.1% gel and my face turned into a peel off-mask (kind of fun picking your skin), cannot be constantly flaky and red - It's nasty looking. Since My reaction to the stronger concetration is heavy peeling, should I peel my skin once a week with 0.1% and use 0.05% other nights? And is sealing serum and moisturiser into my skin with vaseline ok? It seems to work. Thank you :-)
I was on Obagi Brightenex 0.5 for a month and half while also getting in a low percentage glycolic peel in between...I stopped the product because my face was constantly red and I initially only wanted a chemical peel in the first place....1-2 months later (now) , I get rashes when my body heats up (exercise) and my face is hypersensitive...I'm using sensitive skin products + SPF so will this just take time to heal? I still get redness and flake a little here and there...any tips/warnings?
I've been though all the flakey skin tightness burning skin looked horrible!! It started sorting it's self out as been nearly 4 weeks and now it's gone really red and not sure why the only thing different is I've but makeup on last few days and not had it on since using it do you think this could be irritating it? Are you not meant wear makeup! It looks like I've been sunburnt on my face
