Hello, Ive been using retin A .0025% for 4 weeks now... I started with every night but decreased the frequency to every other night until I only do it 2x a week now because of the excessive dryness/skin sensitivity/itching. But Im just wondering if this is normal or should I stop using it. Im really really desperate and conscious because my work requires me to meet with people but it seems like theyre so focused with my blotchy/dry/red/flaky face.
I got side effects like burning, itching type of peeling skin.It is really looking bad as a brownish patces over my cheeks! How can i get rid off? Shall i use any mosturizer?
Updated with a photo and more info. I use prescribed Retinol 0.1% every 2nd or 3rd night. Very often I have extreme redness , itchiness and some slight swelling in patches on my face which goes away after a day or 2 and I cover these patches with Aquaphor. I am determined to soldier on until my skin becomes accustomed to Retinol. My question is, is the Retinol still effective even if irritation is present? Will the red marks left behind eventually be replaced with good skin?
I have been using Ziana for about 4 years now along with NIA24 products. My skin was pretty clear, no acne. A few months ago my face started breaking out slightly, and the dermatologist prescribed Retin-A Micro .08 - the first 3 weeks were fine, 4th week my face started burning, itching excessively, peeling a ton. I'm wondering if I should just stick to the Ziana and use the Retin-A Micro just once week, would that be OK? I'm using it more for anti-aging, not really for acne.
I'm on my 3rd month of retin-A. Should I keep my every-night application of retin-A if my face still peels some days? The skin isn't dry or flaking, just small bits of skin that could easily come off if scrubbed. Is this normal even if I'm on my 3rd month of retin-A already or should I use it less often? I dont go under the sun, I dont have any irritation, redness, or itchyness. Just worried that the surface of my skin will become too thin or become too sensitive over time. Thank you
