Is the Yellow Patch Inside my Nostril an Infection?

I had a rhinoplasty 13 months ago and still experience swelling and redness. I have been told this is likely an infection on here. I can see something yellow inside my nostril and have bad smelling fluid when my nose swells with heat or exercise etc. Does this confirm an infection? If so how can it be treated? Many thanks

Post Rhinoplasty Infection

Hi NoseProblem, Time to visit your rhinoplasty surgeon as it does sound as if you have an infection. Good luck and be well. Dr. P

Is Yellow Patch Inside my Nostril an Infection?

At over a year after nose surgery you should have a healed, soft nose. It is unclear from your description what exactly was done to your nose but recurrent swelling, odor and a visible "patch" suggest a chronic infection or inflammation. It SOUNDS as if either a native cartilage or a graft is exposed and may be infected. You should consult your surgeon. Dr. Peter A Aldea
