i am 7 years post breast implants under the muscle. Last summer I noticed a vague discomfort in my right brest which radiated down my arm and in my armpit. I went to my gp who gave me a thorough examination and put it down to anxiety (i do suffer from health anxiety), the discomfort went away but has now returned 11 months later. It's on my mind the whole time, there are no lumps or bumps but I do suffer from stress on that side of my body in my neck and shoulders too.

Pain from Breast Implants or Panic Attack?

Pain and discomfort following breast augmentation is uncommon many years out from surgery, but can occur. These can all be evaluated and ruled out as a cause by your surgeon with a thorough physical examination. If you have any distortion in the shape of your breast, that... more

Pain in right arm 7 years after breast augmentation with implants

There are numerous other potential explanations and you may require neurologic evaluation to rule out an compression neuropathy or other causes. Ultimately, you... more

Painful implants

The pain you describe may or may not be due to your implants. If your GP has ruled out other medical reasons for your pain, you should consider going back to your plastic surgeon (or to another plastic surgeon) and getting another opinion specifically related to your implants.  Imaging may be a reasonable idea: mammogram, ultrasound, or MRI, depending on the physical findings.

Pain associated with implants

The fact that the pain has resolved in the past, makes it unlikely that it is implant related. Especially this far out after surgery. However, I would see your plastic surgeon for an exam. An MRI also may be indicated. I would try to recall what you did to make it resolve last time, if anything, as conservative treatment, (rest, relaxation, mild antiinflammatory meds, muscle relaxers) would be ideal.
