Should I Be Worried About Doctors with No Before and After Pictures?

Two months ago i was very excited about moving foward with Smartlipo procedure to my Abdomen area and flanks. Finding a good doctor without being influenced by marketing has been a challenged. I've visited several doctors, including one who is rated as "Top" 10 on this site and was amazed that he does not have any before/after pictures of a Smartlipo procedure performed on men, though claim to perform over 1K. Should i be worried? I would think some happy patients would be ok sharring pictures?

I would be suspicious!

Any doctor who doesn't have pictures, yet has supposedly done 1000 procedures is either not very concerned about his patients' results or isn't getting good results. THE VERY FIRST THING any doctor does when they start a procedure is to get pictures of their before and afters. It helps to get them feedback and see their results so that they can improve or hone their craft. It would be like going out in the morning without looking in the mirror. No, I can't... more

Before and after photos

Some surgeons do not post or are not allowed by their patients to post photos on their website. it does not mean that they do not have a large experience. Often the doctors have photos in their office that they are permitted to show.

No before and after pictures-beware

I would be extremely suspicious of a Dr who claims to have performed over 1000 smart lipo procedures and not have before and after pictures. They are great as a marketing and educational tool for patients and extremely important on a medicolegal basis also. Wouldn't you want to see before and after pictures of yourself. Wouldn't you want to see if a bulge you had after the lipo was there before the lipo? I personally would find someone who has before and after pictures... more

Pioctures

Seeing pictures is good but, not the end all. Men tend to do this procedure less than women and are often retiscent to have pictures taken. Ask if you can talk to previous patients. Dostors who are well trained may not have a lot of pictures but could be quite good. How well do you relate to this doctor?
